Troye ran out and stopped at the edge of the pool, watching as Jacob laid their towels and his phone down on the circular benches. He walked straight down the steps and submerged himself to his waist before turning to see that Troye wasn't doing the same
"Come on bub, the water is nice" Jacob said, sinking the rest of the way down
"Tro Tro can not swim Jay" Troye said, taking a step back
Jacob chuckled "Tro you had a pool at your house in Perth, come on in, I'll be right by you and the water is not deep"
"I think I don't want to" Troye said nervously, sitting down criss cross away from the pool edge just incase, so that he didn't fall in
Jacob sighed, he hopped out of the pool and walked into the small storage shed looking around before finding two things to help Troye feel more confident about getting in. He walked out and tossed the blue inner tube into the center of the pool "thats for you" Jacob said "and so is this" he continued showing Troye the pink and purple lifejacket in his hand
Jacob helped Troye put it on, slipping it onto his shoulders and buckling the three clips. "This will keep you nice and safe" Jacob said helping Troye stand holding his hand to walk into the water together
"still not goin in!" Troye said "I-I'm too little!" he claimed
"okay then I'll hold you" Jacob said, quickly picking Troye up behind the knees and walking down the stairs back into the pool. Troye wrapped his arms around Jacob's neck and held on tightly and whined as he felt the water around himself, he started to panic but it didn't get very far as Jacob slowly swished him back and forth, he giggled quietly, realizing that there was nothing to worry about
Troye loosened his grip, letting his arms float free in the water as Jacob left his hand on Troyes waist. "See baby, you're fine just like I said" Jacob insisted, giving Troye a kiss on the temple before letting him go, Troye panicked for a moment before he realized that the lifejacket was keeping him afloat completely
"I'm swimming!" Troye said, kicking his feet about and moving towards Jacob, "wait daddy look at me" he said, putting his face in the water to blow bubbles, when he lifted his face back up the curls on the top of his forehead flopped on his face and Jacob chuckled
"Very good baby" Jacob said "you can go all the way under if I take the jacket off you"
"I-I want to keep in on please" Troye said, kicking his feet towards the other end of the pool. Troye slipped into the tube and Jacob walked toward the young boy
Troye and Jacob played around in the pool until the sun began to set fully, their fingers and toes were wrinkly and Troye was shivering already without even being out of the water for a full minute
