Hello. I was bored so the snek and the badger helped me think up a oneshot.

I didn't feel up to the quidditch game ahead. It was my third year playing quidditch for Ravenclaw, and I had never missed a game. But today I felt awful.

I couldn't miss the game or else Rodger would kill me. We were playing Gryffindor, and they had Harry Potter as their seeker. Even though he was only a first year, he was still a threat.

I beat down a wave of nausea and made my way to the Ravenclaw table for breakfast. I choked down a piece of toast under Rodger's watchful eyes.

I got up to go outside. Hopefully the fresh air will help.

It didn't.

I got on my quidditch uniform and prayed that I wouldn't puke in front of the entire school. We made our way onto the field and Rodger shook hands with Wood, the Gryffindor captain. We mounted our brooms. The whistle blew shrilly and we took off like fourteen hummingbirds darting and dodging and passing and blocking and beating.

The adrenaline of the game momentarily took away my sickness. I caught a pass, threw it, caught it, and went in for the shot. Only to be overtaken by a wave of dizziness.

I dropped the quaffle and doubled over clutching my stomach. I forgot that I was still heading towards the goal. Or to be specific, a certain handsome Keeper.

Said Keeper and I collided. We were now hanging several hundred feet above the ground. Oliver had somehow managed to grab the goal and my hand.

'Think!' I told myself. 'I was sorted into Ravenclaw for a reason.'

Then I got an idea. I fumbled to get my wand out of my pocket before Oliver lost his grip.

"Accio broom!" I yelled. The school broom flew into my hand... causing me to drop my wand. 'Maybe that wasn't a good plan.' I thought grimly.

Oliver looked at me desperately. He started to slip.

"Let go of me." I ordered calmly. He shook his head frantically. Then he lost his grip on the goal. I cursed and held onto the broom in my hand. It wouldn't be able to hold both of us.

Somehow I lifted him high enough for him to be able to grab onto the broom too. Maybe it was the adrenaline pumping through my system. Maybe it was because Rodger insisted on making us do fifty pushups every practice.

Once he had a grip I did the most Hufflepuff thing I've ever done. I let go.

The ground hurtled towards me at a speed that would certainly break a few bones. I considered casting a cushioning charm, but I remembered that I didn't have my wand. Instead I settled for things I read in books. I relaxed my body as much as possible considering the circumstances, and I tucked in my knees and protected my head like I was doing a cannonball into the pool.

When I hit the ground it really hurt. Obviously. I heard a snap from my right arm and a sharp pain in my right ankle. I was surprised that it wasn't worse. A fall like that could have broken my neck. Then everything went black.

I woke up with a start. I had a horrible nightmare. I was falling... Oh no. That wasn't a dream. I moved my right arm and ankle. It was fine. Apparently Madame Pomphrey had fixed it while I was unconscious.

I realized that someone was asleep beside my bed. It was Wood.

I decided to let him sleep. On my nightstand was my wand, a book, and a get-well card from b/f and the team. I cast a small Lumos and started to read.

After what seemed like only a few minutes I heard a snort from beside me. Oliver rubbed his eyes and looked around his eyes landing on me.

"Thank you." He murmured softly.

"It was my fault." I replied.

"Still. Although... what caused you to slam into me in the first place?"

I chuckled. "I was feeling sick. I shouldn't have played, but Rodger would have been upset."

He laughed. "I thought you would want to know that Ravenclaw put up a good fight after you fell, but Harry caught the snitch in the end and we won."

"He's very good. I didn't expect us to win."

We sat in silence for a while until Oliver spoke.

"Hey, I owe you one.... so maybe when we go to Hogsmeade I could buy you a butterbeer." He said.

I grinned and took his hand. "That sounds great."

That was originally supposed to to be a monochromatic au, but that didn't work out. Good?
