LOST
Chapter 1
Kate
Lost. Gone. Never coming back. These are all words to describe my little sis Kate. She has been lost for a really long time. I don't really like to think about it that much though, all I know is she has been lost for too long.
My mother has been sad since Kate had become lost when she about ten. I'm seventeen and have to take care of my mom and I. My dad passed when I was seven and my sister was just born. he had a serious illness that doctors can't make-out. the disease was unknown to the doctors and then they did everything they could until he died.
Life has been hard. I have to hunt and gather food every day for my family. I really have no friends, right now it's all about survival and trying to find my sister. I used to cry a lot but now that I'm seventeen I realize crying doesn't help anything. It doesn't get us any step closer to Kate and wherever she is.
I have had many attempts of trying to find my sis but nothing was successful. some points in my life I felt of giving up and thought she was dead. then that same night I would have the same dream about that she is alive. since then I have hope she is still out there and stuck.
My only friend might be this eighteen year old boy name David. He has heard about Kate's story and in many times tried to help with my missions to get Kate back. He has been lots of help...most of the time. David calms me down when I think I just can't go any further. He always persuades me to keep going even in the dead of night. I could not live without him. He brightens up my mom when she is feeling sad, but he also has a downside. When Kate was little every day David would come home after his day of work to pay for his family's food, and come play with her. David was one of Kate's favorite people in the whole world. She would always giggle, laugh, play, and talk to David whenever he was around. so every time I look at David I remember Kate, and probably how scared she was at that very moment.
We live in a poor and little town. trust me, all three of us, me, my mom, and David have looked every corner, alley, ditch, house, street, and place in this little town many of times. We have looked in every nook and cranny for Kate and have asked everyone in the small village if they have seen Kate. Since it's just a small town everyone knows everyone so the crimes in this little village are very low. That is why we are never worried about kidnapping, but anything could have happened to Kate and all three of us were determined to find her. We needed to find Kate because she was probably hungry, cold, weak, and lost...
