Meet and Greet

Meg and I walk towards our lockers and out our stuff away. We make our way to first period which is Math. We quickly find a seat together and sit down and start talking until the teacher comes in and hushes everyone. Ugh I can already tell I'm gonna hate this teacher. A guy who walks in the classroom gets my attention and thankfully there's only one empty seat next to me so he comes and sits next to me. He looked very confused so I decided to say hi.
Me: hey. My names meredith. Are you new?
Him: h-..e..y *stutters* my names Andrew. Yeah I just moved here.
We shake hand and I smile at him.
Me: cool. Where did you move from?
Andrew: I moved from Chicago.
Me: nice!! A lot of my family live there!
Andrew: that's cool have you ever been there
Me: ya of course! I'm actually going there in January for my sisters wedding, so I'm excited for that. *smiles*
Andrew: oh really? *looks at her and smiles*
Mrs Trails gives me a death stare and I was just so confused. Who does this bitch think she is giving me a death stare? I say in my head. Meg kicks my foot and in a split second I already know why she did it. I know for a fact she is gonna say something corny about me and Andrew talking.
Me: don't even..
Meg: what.. *smiles* I was just gonna ask do you have a pencil?
Me: oh please, drop the act you have a bundle of pencils in front of you dummy. NO I WAS NOT flirting with him!
Meg: oh girl.. you know me so well *smiles*
Me: ur annoying! *pushes her softly*
I turn around to see Andrew staring at me. I quickly look away and clinch my toes. I tend to do that when I get nervous. Meg gives me a look and I already know the look. Ugh, it's only been the first day of school and she's already trying to set me up with this guy who I just met for about a minute. See what I told you? C-R-A-Z-Y girl. The class starts and I'm already starting to get bored of this. I put my head down. I quickly get up when I hear my teacher call out my name.
Mrs Trails: Meredith come up here and tell the class how your summer went.
I get up and I accidentally drop my pen. I bend down to get it my pencil when Andrew tries to reAch other and get it for me. We make eye contact and my heart drops. I hear the guys in the back whispering saying bro I would hit that. Ugh these boys are such fuckboys. I thank Andrew for getting my pencil for me. My face turns red as I walk down and stand in front of the class. I look at meg and she makes a funny face that makes me laugh so hard.
Mrs Trails: would you like to share with class about what's so funny Meredith?
Me: No ma'am I'm sorry. It's nothing.
I tell them about what I did during the summer and somehow me and Andrew kept making eye contact which at first it made me uncomfortable but it made me smile. I make my way back to my chair and pinch Megs hand for making me laugh.
Meg: owww that hurt.. I think I need a bandaid! *says sarcastically
Me: ya you will after this *pinches her harder*
Meg: ok now that hurt!!!
Me: good hehheehehe
The bell rings and everyone rushes to put their stuff away. Meg leaves the classroom and waits for me outside the class so that me and Andrew can have our time-_-. As I tried to make my way out I hear a familiar voice behind me. I turn around and I see Andrew.
Andrew: hey you know how I'm new? Well could you give me a tour of the school?
Me: me?? Oh ya sure of course. *stutters*
Knock it off Meredith.
Andrew: great, so show the way leader. *sticks hand out*
Me: well aren't you a follower?
Andrew: u guessed right *smirks*
We walk down the math hallway and I show him the whole school.
Me: wow well that was a workout!
Andrew: pffft.. that was nothing! I ran cross country and we had to run three miles for a warm. FOR A WARM UP!
Me: hmm.. I see. So your a runner.
Andrew: yep
Me: fits u well *stares at his body and checks him out.
Andrew: hello??? Earth to Meredith! *shakes hand in face*
Well shit what an embarrassing moment.
Me: oh sorry. U were saying?
Andrew: forget it. So what do you do?
Me: well I'm going to try out for swim this year. I decided I wanted to get more involved in school this year so you'll catch me joining all these clubs.
Andrew: well how about I join one with you?
Me: well I would love that. *looks at him and smiles*
Andrew and I make eye contact for which felt like 10 minutes but really for like five seconds then we both look away and I hear the bell ring.
Me: well ugh shit. I'm already late the first day off school!
Andrew: hey it's fine I don't think they're counting tardys for the first week of school so calm down.
Me: your right I guess. Well I'll cya around!
I walk to second period and I see meg. I quickly run to her and sit next to her and start running my mouth. I told her everything about what happened earlier.
Meg: well well. I guess now u can say I was right. I think this is the start of something new girl!! I think you guys would be perfect for each other! But give it some time and get to know each other a bit more.
Me: yeah I'm going to see where it all goes.
The class begins and meg tells me how she met this new boy Marcos and she thinks he's really handsome and she got his number! Well dang what a bold guy? I wish Andrew would just drop the act and give me his number. She told me about the whole Jake incident and I swear at that moment I just wanted to rip off every piece of hair follicles in his body!!! God that boy makes me so mad. Honestly I don't know what Meg sees in him but she must see SOMETHING in him because it seemed like she really used to like him but for now I don't really know how she feels about him. But if he ever does any harm to her, he will not see the light of the day anymore.
Meg and I write notes to each other since we are so bored of this class when the teacher catches us and tells us that this will be our last warning. What's up with all these teachers on the first day of school? Like bitch lighten up...
the bell rings and me and meg head to third period.
Third period was interesting. The teacher was super chill and all. Meg and I go to lunch and she hits my arm. Usually when she hits my arm it means that it's an important call as in she saw someone special. And the first special person that crossed through my mind was Marcos. She must've seen Marcos.
Me: show me where he is!!
She points to this white boy who has brown hair. I gotta admit, he's a real cutie. I can totally imagine them together.
Me and meg find an empty table to sit at and we get ready to eat our lunch and Marcos comes to our table and I look at meg and smile at her. Ugh she's so lucky her man is so brave. I look around hoping I'd spot Andrew. Oh god please give me a sign. I see Andrew and out of nowhere I just yell. I don't know what the hell went through me but man...
me: Andrew come sit here!
Since I knew he hasn't made any friends I decided to be nice and invite him over.
He walks over and I look at his muscular body. God damn what a fine creature.
Andrew: hey what's up!
Me: Meg this is Andrew *gives meg the look* Andrew this is Meg my best friend.
Andrew shakes Megs hand.
Both: Nice to meet you.
Marcos: well aren't you gonna introduce me? :)
Meg: oh yeah, guys this is Marcos. Marcos this is Meredith my best friend.
Marcos and I shake hands and we both say nice to meet you.
We all unpack our food and start to eat. We talked about our classes and how our teachers were so rude. You know, today wasn't such a bad day. The first day of school has been going pretty good, but definitely not as I planned. I think Meg is right, maybe this might be the start of something new.
I kick Megs feet under the ground when I spot Jake coming over our table. Meg kicks me back saying "ow"
Me: code blue! (We have code names for our boys)
Meg looks up when she sees Jake. I can tell she's not really feeling comfortable. I look Marcos and I see him with such a jealousy look which I thought was really cute. Jake asks Meg if he could talk to her for a sec but she refuses to. That's my girl! She did her magic and he finally walked away.
Meg: HES such a dork ugh!!
Marcos: care to share?
Meg tells Andrew and Marcos the story of her and Jake and to me it seemed like they both wouldn't have approved of Jake. Well duh because it seems like Marcos likes meg. Lunch is about to end in five minutes so we all get up and throw our trashes away. We go our separate ways to our classes except me and meg.
Meg: today's been a good day.
Me: I know right?
*went to fourth and fifth period with meg*
I make my way down the gym hall. I texted Meg to meet me at the locker room so we can both get dressed. She's trying out for basketball so I hope she makes it! I'm going to be trying out for swim and I'm really nervous but excited. I see meg and I come and hug her.
Me: GIRLL!!! Good luck I know you will do great!
Meg: ugh I'm so nervous! And thanks girly!! You will do EXCELLENT I KNOW U WILL
They both change and make their way to the gyms.
*practice over*
I meet up with meg in the locker and I tell her how swim practice went and she told me how basketball went, which, of course she did pretty good as she said. She told me about the coach and how she hates him already. I like my coach but she made us run a lap already on the first day.
*school is over*
I wait outside by Megs car waiting for her to get dressed and come. Ugh can this girl take any longer? A familiar face caught the corner of my eye. I turn and I see Andrew. My heart literally sank to my ankle because I was NOT expecting this.
Me: omg hi!?
Andrew: hey sorry scaredy cat, didn't mean to scare you.
Me: pls, I love scary.
Andrew: well, if so, then would you like to go watch a scary movie with me?
Me: uhhh.. *blushes* I'll see..:)
Andrew: fine fine, well here's my number Incase you change your mind.
About time this boy gave me his number. We exchange numbers and say bye to each other.
Meg: sooo..... *smiles*
Me: what..?
Meg: bitch you know what..
Me: well... HE ASKED ME TO WATCH A SCARY MOVIE WITH HIM AND HE GAVE ME HIS NUMBER!! *says in excitement*
Andrew: um excuse me.. sorry I think I might've given you the wrong number let me check.
Oh. My. Fucking. God..!!!! Well there goes that. A flood of embarrassment that I drowned in. Now he will know that I'm totally obsessed with him ugh.
I give him my phone to check if he put the right number.
Andrew: ok ya it's good. Well cya!
Me; bye.. *says in awkward voice*
I see meg laughing so hard so I playfully push her and tell her to stop because THAT WAS SOOO not funny!
Meg: cmon.. it's a bit funny
Me: fine ya.. in fact it was HILARIOUS MEGAN
Meg: I wuvvv u bestieee *gives side hug*
I smile and hug her back. Ugh she always gets me like that. I kept replaying the moment that I was screaming like a fat kid who's mom bought him a big cake. What bad timing.. oh well I'm not gonna think of it that much and just forget about it.
Meg drops me off and I go inside my house and throw my backpack and lay on the cough. Today has been a long, great, AND MOSTLY an embarrassing day. I fall asleep until my phone rings and I wondered who could it?...
