Taylor and Karlie sang in the front seat of the SUV. Taylor was singing along the old Disney song, while glancing over periodically at Karlie as she drove on the dark road. Both girls had smiles plastered to their faces, goofing around without a care in the world.
"We should be at the cabin soon, do you want me drive Taylor?" Karlie asked looking at the navigation on her phone then at Taylor.
"It's alright Kar, plus I miss being able to freely drive" Taylor took her right hand off the steering wheel to take a hold of Karlie's hand. Old Disney songs played in the background while the girls held hands and enjoyed each other's company. The sun had set hours prior, as the dark and gloomy sky took over along the 101 freeway, on route to Big Sur. The girls continue to drive to their destination, as the rain started to come down.
The phone rang through the Bluetooth of the car, pausing the music playing.
"Miss. Swift, the raining is coming down a bit hard. Do you want one of us to take over driving the rest of the way?"
"It's alright Sean, there is only 10 more minutes till we reach the cabins, I can handle it. Thank you though" Taylor smiled in appreciation at the concern of her bodyguards.
"Ok miss, just call or pull over if you need a break or anything"
"Will do" Taylor said before she hung up and continue to focus on the road.
After 15 minutes of driving, they slowed down due to the rain fall, they arrived at their destination. The rain continue to fall harder than before. The bodyguards cabin was roughly 50 meters from the girl's cabin, leaving them enough space for privacy. But the girls had the liberty of Sean and Brian to already bring in their suitcases and bags before leaving them to fend for themselves.
"Shit, I think I forgot a hoodie" Taylor looked around the SUV hoping to find something to cover her head.
"It's fine babe, I have an extra one" Karlie said passed her grey NYU hoodie. While Taylor slipped on the hoodie, thunder boomed through the clouds. Catching the attention of both girls immediately. But Karlie couldn't help but smile, seeing Taylor in her hoodie with leggings, glasses on and her hair back in a ponytail. Taylor was effortlessly beautiful to Karlie, but that is also true about how Taylor saw Karlie.
"Alright Kar, we might have to make a run for it, you ready-" before Taylor could finish her questions. The taller blonde was already out the SUV and into the rain. Taylor's jaw dropped as she witness her girlfriend twilling around in front headlights of the parked car.
"What are you doing, you're gonna get sick!" Taylor yelled, getting out of the car to chase after Karlie. A mischievous smile and bright green eyes looked back at Taylor.
"It's been too long since I felt the rain!" laughed the taller blonde, as she took Taylor's hand to make her twirl and dance with her.
"We are in the middle of a thunderstorm and you wanna stop and feel the rain?" Taylor replied dumbfoundedly, going along with Karlie's movements. Karlie continued to lead them dancing in the rain and laughing before she replied,
"Yes exactly, but more importantly I wanted to dance with you in the rain"
Taylor blushed at cheesy words and stayed quiet. Their dance slowed down to a soft sway, with Taylor's arms around Karlie's neck and Karlie's hands holding Taylor's waist bring her in close. Karlie hummed Perfect by Ed Sheeran, just loud enough for both of them to hear over all the sounds of nature.
"You're so dumb, we're are gonna get sick" shorter blonde mumbled into the Karlie's neck. A cheeky smile appeared on the Karlie's face.
"Yeah, yeah, now stop ruining the moment" as the rain continue to fall, and thunder and lightning softly boomed and streaked across the sky. It wasn't till they both softly shivered before retreating back to the warmed and protection of the cabin.
