I originally wrote this as an assignment for English class in tenth grade. It received the best mark in the class, and to this day, I cannot see why. I am warning you now that it is cliché as hell.

The assignment was to write about "acceptance". There were many amazing stories in the class, in which people wrote about their personal experiences with bullying and self-esteem, and coming to terms with themself and gaining confidence as they grew older. I still can't quite understand why a short teenage love story based on no real truth whatsoever received 100% while others received 60%. It makes no sense to me, but I decided to share this small piece of my heart with you anyways.
