"Megan INGRID what the hell"
"ugh, what did I do now? "
"I waited for you for 20 whole minutes"
"I'm sorry but I was...."
"you were,what?"
Julie said crossing her arms and giving me the death eye
"I was bathing my ostrich"

Julie scoffed as if reading my mind
"ostrich?, you don't have an ostrich"she bluntly told me getting pissed off.
"come on megs what's up with you,its me Julie you can tell me anything okay"
She held my arms stroking gently.
"fine"i sigh finally giving in
"it's my mom"i tell her sitting down on the log I just noticed was behind me all this time
"your mom, what happened this time " she sat down beside me
"Jules can do ask you something"
"sure"
"why are you my friend"

Jules asked giggling
"dammit Julie I'm serious "
I told her getting flustered at her attitude
"woah,megan chill"
I sat down letting the awkward silence fill us up
All my life of knowing Julie there's never been a space I time where we had this type of silence sure there's the
'I wanna be alone, but don't leave me silence'
Then the 'I want your food so just wait for a minute or two to attack silence'
But never the 'I don't know what to say'silence
"Because I just do" Julie replies after that awkward moment
I turned to see her gazing into the distance looking at nothing in particular
"I'm your friend because I just am and I care for you because I just do" she explains. Julie was never an expert when it can't to expressing her feelings about something or someone.
"I'm confused what do you mean by that? " I asked hoping that she would provide a not so brain cracking answer this time.
She sighed, turning to me
"it's like when you are born and see you're mom for the first time in the hospital room, you instantly love her or when you go puppy shopping and see the cutest little puppy and love be it or why you love your brother evening he's a pain in the ass"
I still looked confused,as if Julie sensed it she explained more
" you don't need a reason to love someone or something,it just comes, stardust me as an instinct, or as a habit or something like that... I'm your friend just because I don't have a reason for being your friend or why I care about you I just do okay, so don't go about asking people why they do what they do"
She let go of my arms and hugged me
"best friends together " she said letting me go
"and sisters forever" I smiled letting what she told me sink in

"ugh, what do you want cowboy? "
I said turning to look at the moron that just bounced out of nowhere
"oh, you know I was just taking a walk and saw my two favorite girls talking and I thought why not go and see what the fudge was up" Devon replied pushing me so he could sit down, now I was in between him and Julie
"so let's get this straight you were eaves dropping on us" Julie said holding in her already bubbling laughter
"me, please I got better things to do that eaves drop"he clarified rubbing his shoulders
"hi devon"just then a group of girls passed giggling at him
"hey, ladies" he waved at them
"see much better stuff to do" he turned to us smirking
"okay it was horrible talking to you and See no your face has given me indigestion so I'm gonna go" Julie said already patting her butt, getting off the remains of little scaps of wood on her jeans
"see ya megs" she waved at me
Two more minutes of silence
Men what is up with me today qnd the awkward silence
"so aren't you going to class" I asked Devon hoping he'd get the hint and buzz off
"aren't you going to class? " he asked turning my question around
" I asked you first"
"I asked you better "
"well I'm off see ya" I said getting up until the was forcefully dragged down again by devon
