This drive to my house is agonizing.

Every inch closer we got I felt more nauseous..

"They should understand the situation. I mean, it wasn't your fault. And if I have to, I'll lie convincingly." Brian Sr smiled, fortunately distracting me from my worries.

I let out a chuckle, "It takes a lot of balls lying to my parents like that."

He smiled again, "oh trust me, I know. But I have nothing to worry about since- nevermind."

I laughed.

"Oh, junior certainly does take after you."

"Alright alright, I shouldn't be having this convo with an 18 year old." He chuckled.

"There's your house! I didn't realize you live so close to the police station. Huh. Weird." He said, with a hint of a smirk on his face.

"Oh god oh god oh god. I'm not ready. They're going to murder me with a dull knife, oh god." I started to panic.

"Don't worry, it's going to be fine!" Brian tried to reassure me, "I'll just tell them that you slept over at our house."

"They won't even like that! They'll think I had sex with your son. They're sooooo fucking strict about that stuff." I bursted.

"Will you just relax?? If I tell them that, they'll believe me. Now it's your choice whether or not you trust me." He sternly stated.

"...I trust you..." I quietly mumbled.

"Alright, let's go inside." He smiled.

After sitting in the car for a couple minutes, we took off our seat belts, and started towards the front door.

Brian walked a few feet in front of me, so he was first to the door. Being first, he rang the door bell.

A few seconds later, my mother answered the door.

"THERE you are!! Why didn't you come home last night??!" She narrowed her eyebrows, "honey, Evangeline's home!!" My mom called out to my dad.

"Brian, thank you so much for bringing her home. What happened?" Her brief smile quickly faded.

"Oh, not a problem at all. Eve came over to our house for awhile yesterday, and she accidentally fell asleep. I didn't have the heart to wake her up, I'm sorry." He apologetically smiled.

"Oh, okay.. where did she sleep?" She asked suspiciously.

Brian nervously glanced over at me, not knowing how to answer the question.

What the hell, just say the COUCH.

"She, uhh, slept on Brian's floor." He smiled reassuringly.

"Hmm, okay. Well thank you for bringing her home! See you at the cookout!" She quickly said. Oddly.

Cookout???

"Alright, see you then!" He waved goodbye, and walked to his car, "See ya later, Eve!" He smiled, then jumped into his car and drove away.

My mother quickly closed the door, not giving me enough time to say goodbye back.

"Wait what cookout-"

"You slept with brian!?!?!?!" She interrupted, abruptly.

"Wait what? ew mom n-"

"What???? Eve slept with who??!" My dad interrupted, panicking from across the room.

I swear to god my parents are interrupting cows.
