I'm so happy to see that I already have 5 readers! Thank you guys so much! However, I'm trying to make this part as long as I can since tomorrow is my birthday and I will be having family time, and I also have a long week ahead :( so I hope to be writing again by next Saturday. Anyways, enjoy!(:
After twenty minutes of persuading Blaze to come and eat dinner with me, he finally surrendered. Like, literally surrendered. I'd pushed him down and told him if he didn't come and eat with me that I'd kick him where the sun don't shine. Blaze looked scared, but in a sarcastic way.
So we walked down to this pizza parlor, Uncle Bobs Pizza Shack, and ordered a large cheese pizza with extra cheese.
Blaze and I found a small booth for two and we sat across from each other. While we were awaiting our pizza, we somehow drifted into a comfortable silence. It appeared that we were studying one anothers face.
Now that he was cooled off, his eyes were a bright ocean blue, his facial structures still boyish, not yet manly, his hair messy, tousled and as dark as midnight, under his eyes lay a small stubby nose, and beneath his pink lips were snake bites. Before I knew it, my mind controlled my mouth and I spoke my thoughts aloud.
"When did you get snake bites?", I blurted out. I myself used to have my bottom lip pierced on the right, but I took it out last year.
"Like three years ago. I knew people that could give me whatever I wanted. But I soon lost them. They said I had a bitchy attitude. Ha, yeah right." There was something in his voice that I couldn't completely identify; something like remorse?
"Hmm.. So how old are you, Blaze? What school do you go to? Are your eyes naturally that color?" As I bombarded him with questions, I'd realized that my last question probably caught him off guard and possibly gave him thoughts that I didn't intentionally mean to give him. "Uhm, ignore the latter question...", I murmured. I looked up at him to see if maybe even he was embarrassed. As I gazed up, I only saw a blank expression spread across his face. Now this was awkward.
"I don't like to talk about my eyes. I hate them. Nobody should like eyes as devilish as these. My eyes are what nearly caused my death, what caused my mom to fucking hate me, and what made me hate myself as much as I do." He paused, turning his eyes dark again, as they were earlier. "I'm a dangerous person, and I don't like to be fucked with."
"Here's your large cheese extra cheese pizza, hun. Enjoy, and let us know if you need anything else!", the spunky blonde waitress spoke as she dropped off the pizza.
I pushed the pizza towards Blaze, somewhat embarrassed that I'd pushed him to a point where he became pissed. He made no movement towards the pizza. I sighed. "I'm sorry Blaze for making you upset. I didn't even realize I'd said that to you. It just popped out. And even if by saying this you get pissed, you have gorgeous eyes, even if you don't think so. And I'm really sorry for setting you off." I looked at him, true sincerity in my eyes as his eyes met mine. I saw the color changing again, back to their soft blue. "Alright", he mumbled.
I smiled up, glad we'd fixed that situation. I was even more happier to see him take a slice of pizza and eat it. For someone very skinny and fit, he sure did eat a lot. Me only eating three slices and him five, we definitely satisfied.
"Uh, thanks for the pizza." Blaze mumbled in the corner of the booth.
"Hey, it was my treat. Trust me, I couldn't have eaten all eight slices by myself", I spoke smiling. "Do you need a ride home or something?"
"I can walk; it's not too far."
"Aree you sure? I think it's going to rain." Was he serious?
"Uh yeah, I'm good."
I blushed at the question I was about to ask him. "Can I have your, um, number?" I blushed rapidly. This should definitely go on my 'never have I ever'list.
"Just don't call me at 3 in the morning asking me to save your ass."
I smiled up at him. "Wouldn't think of it." He found a random pen by the cash register and wrote all ten digits on my arm. "Thanks", I said. "I'll text you." Trying not to be awkward, I gave him a hug so fast that he didn't even have time to react to it. "Bye."
As soon as I walked out of the pizza parlor, it began to pour. "Ah, shit." I ran to my car. "Damnit. Where are my keys?!" Once I'd found them I was still having trouble starting my car. When the car roared to life, I began the 30 minute journey home.
The rain came tumbling down twice as harder. I was half way home when I decided to stop at a gas station, due to the lack of gas in my car. And I was dying for a pack of mint gum.
I was walking up to the little store next to the gas station, when I heard coughing coming from the side of the building. My mind was telling me not to go and look to make sure the person was okay, but my heart said otherwise. Thinking it was probably a creepy rapist or pedophile, I still walked up to the side of the building. On the side, it was even darker and the rain wasn't slowing down a bit. More coughing came from a further ways down. I tiptoed down the dark alley, taking extreme caution. "H-hello? Is anyone there? Are you okay?" My voice trembled, showing my weakness. I found the figure leaning against the wall, and I could feel their breath blowing against me, the smell of cigarettes lingered on their breath, with a touch of alcohol.
Since the person didn't answer, I assumed they were drunk or something. The dim street lamp somehow brightened their features. As I positioned myself in front of them, their face came into view just perfect enough for me to figure out who it was.
Blaze.
I thought he was on his way home? He slumped down against the wall, and I slid down with him. He looked me straight in the eye, but there was something about his eyes this time, something utterly different. In a complete friendly gesture, I brushed his hair to the side to see tears drizzling down his face. Although it was hard to tell with all the rain. "Blaze, what's wrong?"
So we sat in the rain for twenty minutes, and just spoke about what was wrong. In short, he was tired of his life, and everything was stressing him out. His one and only brother, Vincent, had just passed away last week, his parents were divorced and his dad never to be seen for the past 17 years. His mother hated him because of how much he reminded her of her ex-husband. he didn't go to school because he had to support himself since he'd been kicked out the house and he was being abused everyday by people he wouldn't tell me about. But since it was raining and we were cold, I took him home with me, hoping my aunt wouldn't question my authority...
Okay! This part might've been kind of suckish, and I'm sorry :( but I promise the next chapter will be better! Leave any comments or suggestions below! Thanks(:
