Hey. My name is Jordan Bello. I'm eighteen years old, and I am now a senior in high school. I live in San Diego with my mom and twin brother, Dean. Dean and I were both born in Chile. Our mom and dad adopted us when we were 4. Although we are the same age, Dean has always been protective and nurturing towards me. We've always been very close and very similar. We are both overtly sarcastic and fail to take most things seriously. We love low budget horror movies for the comedy, and we kick ass at laser tag. Another thing we have in common is our best friend. I know what you're thinking, "they're best friends with each other." You're not wrong, but we have another best friend. His name is Parker. Parker McKenzie. We met Parker the day we moved here.

Flashback

"Woah! Look how big my room is!" I stood in awe at the size of my BRAND NEW room in my BRAND NEW house.

"Jojo!" I heard my brother, Dean, yell from downstairs.

"What," I replied still shocked at how large my room was compared to the old shoe box  apartment we lived in back in New York.

"Come meet the next door neighbors!"

My heart began to beat rapidly at the thought of meeting new people. I don't know if I am ready to meet new people. I only met mommy and daddy three months ago. I slowly worked my way down the long long long stairs.

"JOJO," I heard Dean shout again.

"I'm coming!" My voice was shaky due to my nerves.

"Okay," I heard Dean mumble softly.

As I made my way down the last few steps, I straightened out my red dress and raised my head. I saw two tall people standing next to mommy and daddy. They both had brown hair like mommy and daddy, but their skin was lighter.

"Jordan, Dean, this is Mr. and Mrs. McKenzie and their son, Parker," Mommy said. Dean and I both looked up at mommy before quickly waving to the two giants. I instantly grew confused and looked to see that Dean shared the same puzzled expression. Mommy said they had a son, but I didn't see anyone. Before I could ask mommy where the boy was, her and daddy started one of their boring adult conversations with Mr. and Mrs. McKenzie. My eyes wandered the room, searching for the boy. My muscles relaxed when I came in contact with a pair of warm mocha brown orbs. I studied the body that the eyes belonged to and saw a boy just a little bit taller than me cowering behind Mrs. McKenzie's legs. He had brown hair and was wearing a blue batman t-shirt. His teeth were gnawing on a red lollipop. I was about to move closer to the boy when Dean did it for me. He shoved me in his direction forcing me to do the introducing.

"Hi, I'm Jordan." I stared into the boy's eyes waiting for him to speak up. I noticed his body loosen at the sound of my voice.

"I'm Parker," he said after pulling the lollipop from his mouth. He flashed a cheesy smile that made my heart flutter. He inched closer to me and swiftly grabbed my two hands with his little sausage fingers. My face flushed, and I couldn't help but smile at the handsome boy standing fairly close to me."Do you wanna be best friends?" He spoke confidently, but he grew shy in the brief time he spent awaiting my reply. I interlocked my fingers with his in a tightly secured grasp. I immediately responded without thinking twice.

"Yes." In less than seconds, the boy was running to the backyard pulling me along with our hands still intertwined. Our feet pushed off of the damp grass as he dragged me up to our tree house. I didn't even know we had a tree house. He sat at the edge with his tiny legs resting on a slide. He gestured for me to sit alongside him. I smiled even wider and sat so close that I could feel the heat radiating off of his body. He once again weaved his hand with mine while using the other to retrieve the cherry lollipop from between his lips. He held the lollipop out offering for me to have it. My mouth watered at the sight of candy. I grabbed the lollipop and put it in my mouth, not before thanking him. In response, he just put his arm around my side and held me close.
