She was the fairest one of all
The only rose among the rest
She had the prettiest petals
And she thought she was the best
But her beauty was only skin-deep
For she was boastful and vain
She scoffed at all of the daisies
And laughed at their obvious pain
The others would have looked up to her
If only she wasn't so mean
Her arrogance was worse than her thorns
Though she's the most elegant that others have seen
So the rest just stayed out of her way
And at first, the rose didn't care
But soon, she was filled with sadness
And now she didn't seem so fair
If only she realized her mistake
Then she wouldn't have been so alone
For beauty is never quite enough
When spite is all one had shown
