"I found a cave!" I hollered across the green covered jungle being drenched in a downpour of cold rain, my friends turned to face my call. They both started to chase along the dirty mud, kicking it up as they go.

"Come on guys! It looks dry!" I grin waiting for them to meet me. They both arrive, panting quickly after their sprint, wiping their hair stuck to their face behind their ear.

"You go first Ruby. You found it..." Olivia state matter of factly. I roll my eyes, I knew this would happen, I was the first to jump off the boat when we arrived. They were scared of how deep the water was.

I walked into the cave, my eyes adjusting to the darkness. "It seems safe!" I shouted over my shoulder, the sound of feet pattering behind me responded. There was a group of large rocks heaped near the cave wall. I reached for one, shocked at its cold surface, and placed it on the dry ground so I could sit down.

"We need to ring the boat, it shouldn't have left even in this weather!" I addressed my friends as they followed suit with another two rocks. I reached for my phone in my grey rucksack, soaked just like us. "No way! Two bars of signal!" My voice echoed around the walls. I dialled the number for the boat and waited for an answer.

"We're sorry, Bob's Boats is closed, the next boat available is 3pm tomorrow. Sorry for any inconveniences, we hope you have an enjoyable day!"

"Damn it!" I shouted at the phone, my friends looked at me in anticipation. "There isn't another boat setting off until 3 tomorrow. So it won't get here until 5pm!"

"That's nearly a whole day!" Tess exclaimed. She was always the one to worry.

"Well we can't do anything now anyway, may as well try and get comfortable here." levelheaded Olivia replied. She slid off the rock and laid down on the hard floor.

"Squark squark!" A noise from outside stopped us. We all looked towards the cave entrance, something flew low in the cave, making us scream. A bird like thing swooped low, except this bird didn't have a beak, it had fangs. Fangs covered in blood. It was followed by 30 more and...

That was the last thing I remember until I was back on the boat, the friendly driver giving me a piteous smile. It was just me and him.

Tess.
Olivia.
I don't know where they are now.
