It was about two days before the full moon, and your entire class had been planning a trip to a local campsite to watch it.

It was perfect - it landed on the first day of Autumn break, so everyone was free, and if you couldn't pay, you just had to bring something -- food, shelter, entertainment. You had been begging your boyfriend of three months, Shownu, to go with you, but he'd been giving you the cold shoulder.

"Shownu, please!" you begged for what seemed like the eightieth time.

"[Y/N], it's just not a good idea." It wasn't like you hadn't heard of werewolves, and yeah, a lot of people went through a phase where they pretended to be something supernatural, but that was usually in the seventh grade, not senior year of high school.

"Why are you being this difficult?" With midterms just ending, you hadn't been able to see him lately, and it seemed like it could've been perfect, the two of you lazing by a local lake the entirety of Saturday, then going to the BBQ before the group headed back. Tears swelled in your eyes as you and Shownu continued your argument.

He sighed. "I don't want to be difficult, I'm sorry. It's just...." He trailed off, thinking. "It's a superstition, but I don't like to go out during full moons. I guess horror stories about werewolves screwed me up as a kid, y'know?" His hand found its way to the back of his neck, scratching his hair.

He pursed his thick lips, an attempt to see if you believed his lie. You didn't, but you weren't in drama club for nothing. "Okay!" you perkily replied. "Can we hang out Sunday though?"

He pushed his eyebrows together, deep in thought. "I'm busy that morning, but I should be free around noon?"

"That works." You stood on your tiptoes, holding his face in your heads as you pressed a slow kiss to his lips. He kissed you back, but the two of you soon parted as you got a text from your mother, signalling that she was there.

'Is your back packed at home? We're leaving around four.' the text read.

Thinking for a second, you responded that you decided not to go, before saying goodbye to Shownu.

Later that night, the light of your phone combined with the full moon, you began your half-mile trek to Shownu's house. Standing across the street, hidden in the shadows of his neighbor Kihyun's house, you watched the dim light in Shownu's room.

You were too invested in the possibility of his cheating to recognize the light brown canine sneaking up on you. You didn't notice Shownu's light turning off, nor did you notice his window quickly and quietly opening and shutting.

A deep growl from behind you caused a quiet yelp to escape your lips. Wolves weren't rare in your city, but they certainly weren't common. Hoping to sneak away from the yellow-eyed animal, you took a step back, hands palm-up and slightly away from your body. As you took one step, so did the wolf.

'Shit,' you thought to yourself. You took quicker steps, and so does the beast. Taking a chance, you turned tail and fucking sprinted. But so did the beast, and within a second, you felt claws scraping at your tennis shoes.

You leaned slightly forward in a last ditch attempt to lose the wolf, and almost ran into another, this one light gray and brown. You turned one shoe, sliding, scraping your knees as you fall, landing maybe a foot in front of the much larger beast.

The first animal paused just behind you, and as the larger one growls, the light brown one tucked tail and ran away, his nails skitting on the pavement.

You looked up at the animal just in front of you, not looking into it's eyes, considering you're not stupid, but once you got a glance of it's eyes, your heart skipped a beat.
