Animal abuse is something cruel and it happens every day. People do many cruel things to animals. A humongous amount of animals die every year because of animal cruelty. There are things we can do about animal abuse. Some people do not agree with some of these things about animal abuse. Animal abuse is happening every second, and we need to stop it.

To start off, there are many cruel things that people do to animals that are innocent. Some animal cruelty is for human entertainment. One of these things is bear-baiting, the “sport” of watching a chained bear being viciously attacked by a dog. There are also places that keep animals just so we can shoot them. Additionally, there are cockfighting tournaments, where two chickens fight. Over half of the birds die, and the survivors usually suffer injuries including broken wings, punctured lungs, and gouged eyes. Racehorses are treated very badly, and when too many racehorses are bred, the leftovers most commonly get slaughtered. Another form of animal abuse is calf-roping events in rodeos. The calves reach speeds of up to twenty-seven miles per hour, and suddenly get stopped by a strong tug at the neck. Many of these calves end up with punctured lungs, internal hemorrhaging (internal loss of blood), paralysis, and broken necks. Many circus elephants were captured in the wild. When they get to the circus, the elephants are chained and never see their families again. There are different types of animal abuse too. Puppy mills are places that breed dogs and care more about the money than any of their animals. Many puppy mills aren’t regulated or inspected. In addition, lab animals are usually treated horribly, and many die because of the product that they are having put on them. There is animal hoarding too. This is when a person has too many animals to care of. Exotic pet trading is horrible, and many animals are taken from their natural habitats. If an animal has wounds, patches of missing hair, is extremely thin, is limping, gets whipped by its owner, is consistently left alone without food or water, or hasn’t been taken to vet for any of these, is undergoing animal abuse.

These are only some of the things that people do to animals that haven’t done anything.

In addition, many animals die because of animal abuse. Approximately one billion, six hundred fifty four thousand animals die from animal cruelty each year. In addition, every eight seconds, a dog gets euthanized.

Sixty six thousand, six hundred ten dogs are being subjected to experimental procedures. Fifty seven thousand, five hundred thirty one primates, fifty eight thousand, five hundred ninety eight pigs, two hundred forty five thousand, seven hundred eighty six rabbits, twenty two thousand, nine hundred twenty one cats, one hundred seventy six thousand, nine hundred eighty eight hamsters, thirty two thousand, two hundred sixty sheep, two hundred twenty one thousand, two hundred eighty six guinea pigs, sixty four thousand, one hundred forty six other farm animals, and two hundred thirty one thousand, four hundred forty other

animals are too. We need to lower these numbers down to zero.

Although this happens all the time, there are many things we can do to stop animal cruelty. The first thing that we can do is report it if we see it. The first step to reporting animal abuse is to find out where to report it. The second is to give a written, factual statement of what happened. You should include dates and times. Next, you photograph what is going on and date your pictures. After that you should call to report the abuse. When you report it, make sure to keep track of exactly what the discussion was about, the person or people you talked to, the date, and the outcome of your conversation. The sixth step is to copy your document. Next, you should make it clear that you are serious. Then, make sure that an officer comes out to check the situation. After this, you can go to the police and ask to swear a warrant to send the abuser to court. You should make sure you have a witness too. Following these steps should make the abuse stop. You can make choices to stop abuse while shopping, by eating natural animals from reliable farms. To help stop cruelty, be fur free. Also, be animal friendly when you are traveling. Most importantly, be responsible for your pets. We need to do all of these.

Some people around the world do not believe that animal abuse is such a bad thing. They say that without laboratory testing on animals we would not have some of the products we use every day. Animals are a huge part of entertainment, and they argue that we need to be entertained by them. They disagree that all of these animals dying is horrible. They say that it helps keep the population at a normal rate. They additionally argue that we should let animal abuse run its course. They don’t believe we should take action. I do not agree with any of these arguments.

Animal abuse is a horrible thing that happens all the time. There are many cruel things that people do to animals. A ton of animals die every year because they have experienced cruelty. There are many things we can do to help prevent and stop animal abuse. There are some people that do not agree that animal abuse is atrocious. Animal abuse is happening every second, and I believe we need to stop it.
