"Sigh..." Roxy writes notes from her class down, bored, at one point stopping and deciding to doodle instead. She remembers how that same morning, something she didn't expect happened.
...
"ROXY ROXY! I GOT STRAIGHT A'S LOOK! YOU HAVE TO BE MY FRIEND NOW!"
...
She didn't really mind, but she preferred being alone, being alone makes it easier to live. Sure, you have to go to places alone, seeing people with friends at the movies, mall, park, everywhere... but you never really mind when you've been alone your whole life, no one to escort you anywhere... your mother had died in an accident and your father disappeared... atleast it's what you tell the people.
"Roxy? Roxy!" Snapping out of her thoughts, she realized someone had been calling her and they were the only ones in the classroom, looking at the clock she sees it's time for lunch, at 12:30.
"Rox, are you okay?" Said what she realized afterwards was Edgar calling her. "Don't call me that" the red haired answered with a monotone voice. "Wanna eat at the entrance stairs? No one will bother us there" suggested the boy. Roxy nodded as she picked up her bag as did the boy, both going out the classroom to the outside entrance stairs of the school.
After they got there, they had settled down and taken their lunch out. Edgar had brought out a box with what seemed like left over rice and chicken, but as he looked over, he saw that the girl was holding a subway sandwich, her eyes shining with delight, something he's never seen from her thanks to her usual monotone attitude, he just knew that there was more to her and maybe those subway sandwiches were her weakness.
As Roxy took off the wrapper from that subway sandwich she had been longing for, her eyes went wide as she saw how the boy got in the way and took just an itty bite out of her sandwich to bother her.
Now. She was pissed.
"WHAT THE F*** MAN I REALLY WANTED THIS WHOLE SANDWICH TO MYSELF" yelled out the girl, red with anger. A chuckle emitted from the boy "wow who knew you had emotions, relax, I only took a small bite" Edgar smiled cheekily. "I DON'T CARE, YOU HAVE YOUR OWN FOOD, AND IF YOU WANTED SOME YOU COULD'VE JUST ASKED, WHAT YOU DID WAS PLAIN RUD-" she was interrupted by a spoon shoved in her mouth "here, you can have some of my rice and chicken in exchange, made it myself, hope you like it" he smiled warmly. She slowly calms down as she eats it "it's... not that bad... I'll let it pass, but I'm still mad" she puffs her cheeks as they go a little red. "It's nice knowing you have emotions, show them more often... happier ones I mean" he laughs worriedly.
After that, they had gone back to class, ready to study again, because even though he won the bet, they still needed good grades, it IS important for life and the future... but then again, so is a social life... something that Roxy didn't realize yet.
When school was done, they both started packing up, Edgar finishing first as he walks to her, waiting for her but then decides to ask "can I walk you home?" She zips her bag up as she looks at him with her monotone face back again "sure... Doesn't matter either way" she answered. The brown, curly haired boy smiled as he walked out the classroom with her, following behind her.
They walked down the side walk on the way to her house which was an apartment in a small building. She then heard a sharp gasp come from Edgar as they approached the building "OH MY GOD I LIVE HERE!" Edgar screeched with happiness. The girl looked at him with wide eyes "what?! Oh.... god... help me" she groaned annoyed, bowing her head. "Take me to your apartment, I must know if I'm your neighbor" he said with serious enthusiasm, "Fine..." .
When they got to level 3, apt. 4, she had heard another screech of excitement from Edgar, she groaned, already guessing what was wrong, or well, what was so great. "I LIVE IN APARTMENT 3, WE'RE NEXT TO EACHOTHER YAY" he hugs her in excitement. She sighs, letting it happen, but for some reason she felt comfortable about him, maybe having him around won't be so bad.
