Alternatively: 'Maria Gets Kidnapped, Francis' an Ass, and Deadpool and Vanessa Adopt a Kid', but that was too long so.

Maria blinked as she woke up. Her head hurt, what happened?  She looked around, then realized she'd been strapped to a table. "She's awake.", the voice that announced this came from a shorthaired woman. The woman was American, Maria faintly realized, another voice joined them, "Ah really now? Well then Miss Merryweather, welcome to H.Y.D.R.A.", the voice came from a man Maria didn't see until he spoke. The word H.Y.D.R.A. rang around in her head. She wanted to cry. He smiled, "Here we create mutants. We put them through endless amounts of suffering to activate their x-gene, then force them into our army. We did try with adults at first, but then so many went rogue. The Maximoff Twins, the Winter Soldier, Deadpool. So, we decided to try with children instead. They can be conditioned into a certain mindset..." The man's pointless rambling bored Maria and the 8 year old's attention was caught by something much more interesting.                                                                                                                                                           Reaching out, Maria's nimble fingers grabbed the little badge hanging from the man's coat. She pulled it close then hid it up her sleeve where none could see it. Maria looked at the man, finally realizing she didn't know his name. She asked. "My name is Ajax." Maria was fairly tempted to point out that there was no way that true, but Maria wasn't one to diss on people's names, and she wasn't gonna start now, even if they were psychopathic H.Y.D.R.A. dudes who tortured children, so what she said instead was, "Okay." Ajax pulled out a huge needle, and started filling it with a strange blue liquid. The man stuck the needle in her arm, and Maria watched as the blue stuff darkened her veins. The man out the needle, and the woman shoved an oxygen mask over Maria's face. Her world darkened as whatever she breathed in sent her off to sleep.

When Maria came to she was strapped to a metal bedframe. Unexpected pain shot up her spine and she screamed. Whipping, waterboarding, electrocution, beatings, starvation, dehydration, getting sliced open. Maria giggled hysterically, the weeks of torture finally catching up. She slipped the badge she had stolen out of her sleeve, and into her hand. She hadn't had a chance to look at it.

Lady Hampshire's Laundromat

Francis

Maria grinned. Then started laughing. Francis walked into the room, "what's so funny?" She grinned at him, "I don't know Francis, why don't you tell me." Maria kept laughing even when he smacked. Then he smiled wickedly. "Let's put her in the freezer." Maria yelped when he started pushing her in the direction of the freezer. He shoved her in then, shut and locked the door. "Lower the temperature, keep going 'till her mutation kicks in." He walked away as the room grew colder.                                                                                                                                                                                 Hours past and soon Maria was so cold she could no longer process what was gong on around her. Maria didn't want to feel the cold, she didn't want it to bother her, just as much as she didn't want to the heat of summer to burn her. As Maria's world darkened, she realized that the cold was going away. Were they turning up the temperature? Was it finally over? Maria shook her head and looked around. She was still in the freezer. Maria caught her reflection in some ice, and stopped dead. Her skin was went from bright blue to a dark greyish colour. Her hair was an ombre of periwinkle  to violet. Her Nightgown started out as ice at the top, then become snow, then frost as it went down.                                                                                                                                                     At that moment Maria heard screams. She had to get out of there! She couldn't leave looking like this it would attract to much attention. To Maria's surprise, her skin hair, hair, and clothes returned to complete normal as if she had never changed in the first place. The 8 year old smiled. "That useful", she muttered. Maria ran out, to find that the entire hallway leading to the freezer was filled with dead people, all grotesquely murdered. Blood, guts, brains, muscles, and organs decorated the room. Maria felt sick. Bile rose in her throat, but she forced it down. Maria could worry about the trauma this would bring her later. Right now, she had to get out of here. Running as fast as she could, Maria forced herself to run, trusting her instinct to take her where she was needed. Maria took a sharp turn and found herself in room filled with chests and drawers.                                                                                                                                                                                         Moving quickly Maria ran round the room searching for her name. She found it on a wooden chest. Maria didn't have a key, but then, she didn't need one. Maria placed her and on the lock, and focused. She focused on how the lock would when it froze, on how the ice and frost coating  it would feel, on the sound the ice and frost would make as it spread. Opening her eyes, Maria smiled at the sight that greeted her. The lock was frozen. Maria looked around, spotting a hammer not to far away from her. Perfect. Maria snatched up the hammer and brought it down on the frozen lock, going on until it broke. Maria grinned and shoved it open. Maria reached in and pulled out her backpack. She dumped out all her school books. She started shoving her knives and guns into the her pack being quick and efficient. She shoved 'The Ancient Chronicles Of Moonacre Valley' into her pack. She closed her pack, then grabbed the last item of the chest, the item she would need to get out of here. The golden compass. Most people would wonder what a compass of any kind would be good for in this situation. But this compass was different. Although, the compass did have north, south, east, and west, it was made to send her the direction she needed to go. Maria stood slinging on her pack, and opening the compass. Maria watched as the needle of the compass spun rapidly, before coming to an abrupt stop. She smiled, and ran following the direction of the needle as it changed.                                                                 Finally Maria stopped. She had to come a door. Maria opened it to find a tall masked man and a pretty lady both talking. The man looked over and grinned, "Oh hello, my names Deadpool I' a Mercenary. This is Vanessa. She's my girlfriend." Maria politely said her greetings, before the exhaustion caught up to her and she fainted. Needless to say, a week later Maria Merryweather was adopted by a ugly psycho mercenary, and his gorgeous psycho girlfriend.
