Maria sighed as she walked through the graveyard next to the hearse. She didn't know why  she had to be there. It's not like she knew the man. All she knew was that after her mother died, she was left out for H.Y.D.R.A. to find her on purpose. Still, it was polite. At least, that's what she was told. Maria frowned. Thank God Maria worshipped Virginia 'Pepper' Potts growing up. Maria had learned how to school her features, just so, to fool people into underestimating her. It was a useful skill in the business world. Maria knew better than to try this around friends and family. They'd call her out on it. She'd seen it happen to Pep hundreds of times. Speaking of, Pepper and Tony wanted to come to live in Moonacre, but couldn't because they had to take care of SI. Peter and MJ were coming though. Which was good, seeing as how Maria  would need Peter's Heart of Sasstastic gold, and MJ's Snark of the Soul to survive Moonacre.

As the coffin was lowered into the ground, and the Priest said his final goodbyes, Maria carelessly threw a rose onto the coffin, Then gently placed a rose on the marble grave beside her. Glancing in the direction of a gazebo, Maria caught the stare of young attractive man leaning against one of the marble pillars, the mask across his face made it hard to tell what he looked like exactly, but he was still a tall drink water. The hatred and urge to kill displayed across his face didn't frighten Maria in the least. Maria's personal motto was 'Don't mess with the girls at funerals unless you want to get your ass kicked'. More people than she could count, had tried to kill her since Wade and Nessa adopted her, she'd be surprised if they stopped now. Maria turned away  to scold Peter for trying to get MJ to kill him over a popsicle he bought the week before, while they were at a funeral. When she turned back, creepy-attractive-I-spy-on-girls-at-funerals dude wasn't there. Huh. Maria shrugged before turning to tell Nessa about him.

When the funeral was over Maria, Nessa, Deadpool, Peter, MJ, and Miss Heliotrope, her old nanny, were going to the office to find out about Maria's inheritance. Maria wouldn't be surprised if she didn't have an inheritance. Last Maria heard of her father, he was a backstreet gambler who bet away everything they owned. An hour later, they were all sitting in front of a desk, the man sighed as Miss Heliotrope spluttered, "He- he lost everything? In-including the house?" The man nodded, "I'm afraid so." He turned to Maria, "He did leave these as your inheritance. Their family heirlooms, so he couldn't gamble them away." He handed Maria, an ornate wooden box, and a book. Maria opened the box and gently took out a small pretty Diadem inlaid with diamonds and pearls.

Maria put it back in the box, there would be time to admire it later. Maria looked at the book. "The Ancient Chronicles of Moonacre Valley?", Maria asked. She looked up. Confusion evident on her face.

When Maria arrived at her old home she immediately sought out her old room. The room was an exact replica of her the one she had in America. There was only two key difference. Her room in America was Lavender and Black, whereas here it was Baby Pink and White, that was the first. The second was that where the vanity was in her room, there stood a dollhouse in this. She wrinkled her nose, "I think this room would look better with lavender and black, instead of baby pink and white." Maria sighed and quickly changed into a black lace nightgown that only reached mid-thigh.  She pulled out the heirlooms her father left. She spent a few minutes admiring the Diadem, then put it away and picked up the book. Now, looking at it more closely, she could see that Pearls had been sewn into the fine leather that bound the book together. She smiled and began to read,

Once upon a time, hundreds of years ago, when the old magic still clung to the valley, there was a woman who's purity was beautiful, and who's skin gleamed like a star.

Such was her bravery, innocence, and goodness that nature herself bestowed upon her, a gift like no other, the Moon Pearls.

It came to be that in the valley, the woman was forever known as, The Moon Princess.

It came to be that the Moon Princess, daughter of the Ceour De Noir  was in love with, and to be married  to, Sir Wrolf Merryweather.

The Merryweather and De Noir families had lived harmoniously in the valley since the beginning, sharing nature's bounty, and this marriage would strengthen that bond more so than ever.

Maria looked at the water colour painting of the Moon Princess, who looked so beautiful and upset. She sighed and closed the book. Maria reached over and shut off the lamp beside her bed, settling in for a nights sleep.

Robin meanwhile had been very irritated since the Merryweather girl had spotted him. From what he knew the girl had been adopted by Wade Wilson an ugly Mercenary, and his girlfriend. They would be going with her to Moonacre, as would her friends, The blue eyed boy, and Snarky girl. Now, he slipped onto the girls bedroom balcony, and had seen her distaste, through the doors. He averted his eyes as she changed, Merryweather or not, he'd been raised to be respectful. Now, he watched as she looked at the Diadem. She put it back and began to read the book. He waited. Once she was asleep, Robin made his way through the room. His friends bolt out her bedroom door to the hallway, leaving him the only one in the room. He searched the room before walking over to see if she was the pearls. All he found was a heart pendant lying across her neck, Looped through a silver chain. He lifted it. Her head twisted in his direction and he froze. He relaxed he realized she had just shifted in her sleep. He studied her features, noting the freckles dashed across her nose. The sound of something metal being knocked over had him bolting out of the room, cursing whoever had been responsible. He hid behind her curtains, watching as she switched on the lamp. His eyes widened in surprised as she pulled a revolver out from her pillow and quietly walked out of her bedroom. He quickly snuck off to the back yard, relieved when he found they were all accounted for. There may not of been gunshots, but that doesn't mean they weren't hurt.

Maria ran in the house towards the kitchens where the crashing had come from. Nessa was yelling at Wade for scaring the crap out of everybody, just because he felt like it. Maria rolled her and went to bed to return to the blissful land of dreams.
