"Well enough with that talk." Kali says. I glance around her house, it's damp and dark, walls make of dirt, I see a little room that connects a kitchen and living room. "I'm going to get cleaned up. You can wear your civilian clothes tonight, but in the morning you have to take a bath and wear other clothes. Tomorrow you leave your possessions here and we leave." Kali turns to the back room, and I'm left with my thoughts, whatever they were. It's all too crazy- for someone to lay all that on you. My stomach growls, but I just swallow my spit. I doubt Kali would like me rooting through her things. "Are you hungry?" She asks after I start playing a mind game- think of any memories I can. "A little." I take in her appearance, her dark hair is loose, and she wears a tank top with shorts, but my eyes fall on a green band that occupies her wrist. "What does green stand for?"

"Epilepsy. Here." She says handing me a small bound book with colors and diseases. "It was here when I got here."

"Why are there so many? Is everyone in the city sick?"

"They say when you are born the city injects you with a needle that contains a liquid that makes you contract a disease or illness or disability- no matter if your healthy or not- the officials and police men dont give your family a choice. It's so you become dependent on the city and its resources and so you never want to leave for fear of dying without the citys help. You were injected with asthma so you want to stay and get an inhaler and help. It's all different- but it's funny. With all these sickness resources are running thin. Here." Kali hands me a small bowl a mush but I eat it graciously. "This is good."

"What's your name?" Kali asks. "I don't know." I murmer. "Well name yourself. It's part of your identity."

"Then Caelyn." After i finish Kali takes me bowl as my eyelids start to droop- and then IT happened.
