Darkness reined in the small cage-like room, as silver orbs watched as the tiny sliver of the moon slowly rises, as if being lifted by the heavy winds that night. The child staring out of the bared in window, from his seat in a hammock, couldn't have been more than ten, but his silver pupils surrounded by a black void, held more intelligence than most adults, more pain than a solider. This boy, without a name, was gazing with his sad and lonely eyes at the lovely night sky when he saw a star pass by.
A shred of hope filled his childish heart, he made a wish, one that he knew was foolish and would never happen.
'I wish for freedom, the freedom to laugh and do what makes me happy...'
Tears would stream down his face making him look just as miserable as he felt, but then a swoosh of wind would blow him out of his hammock. The sound of wings could be heard silently in the distance quickly getting closer.
Suddenly as the wings started there was a large crash, a large owl with a lion-like body would be seen outside the window. The window would easily crumble as the beast leaned on it, the boy, startled as he was, was not afraid of this majestic beast, but felt strangely attached to it. It would gently grab the boy in its beak and carry him outside for the first time in well... ever.
