Chapter 1- The New Exchange Students - Effy's POV
I was known to get hang overs but this one had to be the worst. My head pounded as my sister banged on the door. I shoved the pillow back over my head and groaned as she repeated my name over and over again. I groaned even louder and then picked my glass of water up and walked towards the door to see my innocent sixteen year old sister stood there with a face like thunder.
"Effy we're-" She stopped before she could begin again.
I threw the water at my sister which drenched her whole face as she screamed. I couldn't give a shit if she was bothered by it. Allison screamed in my face and stood there with her arms folded as I had a massive smug grin on my face.
"You think this is funny?!" She asked hysterically.
"Yes, I find it hilarious actually," I joked.
"Effy Stonem you may be my sister but you are a real bitch!" Allison exclaimed as she stormed off downstairs in a huff.
"Love you too!" I called down as I laughed.
I walked back into my room and slammed the door shut as I heard Allison complaining to
herself about me like she usually does. The smell of eggs made me want to vomit in my mouth but they were Allison's favourite so she always made them every morning. Our mother wasn't really around much, She had a severe drug problem and our father never really bothered with me but he loved Allison to pieces so I just accepted that. I checked the time on my clock and my eyes widened.
"Shit!" I gasped.
I was late for my first day. We had decided to move to California for a fresh new start and mum moved with us. Dad only lives about two miles away so he can still see Allison but I was always the problematic child so he never wanted anything to do with me. It never bothered me really because he was an ass and I never had a clue about what Allison saw in him but my sister sees the good in everyone even if its some psychotic killer. I sighed and rubbed my eyes as I saw dark patches underneath them, I realised it was dry mascara from the night before so I grabbed a wipe and cleaned it up. I reached into my wardrobe and grabbed a silvery, short sleeved short dress which was baggy and some fish net tights. I walked over to my dresser and grabbed a load of necklaces and chains and just wrapped them around my neck. I grabbed my rouge bag, zipped it up and ran downstairs.
"Effy?! Do you want some breakfast?!" Allison asked.
"I'm good, I'll get something on the way," I responded as I zipped up my black ankle boots.
"Eff you need to eat or you'll be ill," Allison sighed as she walked through from the kitchen.
"Fine, You got any toast?" I asked.
"We do, Do you want one round?" She asked.
"That will do," I nodded.
I walked through to the kitchen with Allison as she beamed with joy. The walls were a lemon colour and the floor boards creaked every time someone walked on them and that pissed me off so much. I saw a Kebab on the side in Allison's lunch box and I smirked as she turned around. I grabbed the Kebab and started to eat it as Allison turned around with a round of toast in her hand.
"Mmm," I licked my lips. "Chicken Kebabs are the best," I smirked.
"Effy that was my lunch! I just made you toast!" She complained.
"Sorry," I chuckled.
"Whatever, Let's go before you make us both late," She sighed and grabbed my arm as we headed out the back door.
