Dancing in the rain

It was raining. The rain pelted down on the rooftop as Nellie Kempton sat in her room typing away at a paper she was desperately trying to get done. She leaned back in her chair and sighed rubbing at her eyes, it had already been a long night. She pushed the idling thoughts of the day out of her mind and dove back into writing, only 500 more words and she could collapse into bed. She hated Dr. Fredrick for  giving them a 5,000 word research paper, but she hated her self more for only starting two days before it was due.

She finished typing and quickly hit save and sent it in on Turn It In, "Not even gonna' bother to proofread this." she mumbled to herself hitting send.

After submitting her paper she closed her lap top and stood from her desk, stretching, and hearing a satisfying crack  as her back finally settled into a comfortable position; she considered if a permanent slouch was worth obtaining her degree. She quickly stripped down and threw on a large t-shirt; ruffling her short brown hair into her face. Nell flopped face first into bed and groaned. God it felt good to lay down. She curled on her side and let the pattering of the rain drift her to sleep.

At first she dreamed of nothingness, of black voids and the back of her eyelids. But as she drifted further into subconscious she dreamt of blurry faces in the rain; muted laughter as two people spun around in the puddles in a down pour. She dreamt of papers thrown out a window  and dissolving into water running down the parking lot lines.

She awoke more exhausted then when she went to sleep.
