Amon P.O.V
I fought the agitated sigh that threatened to escape his lips. To my right, Mado taped his fingers against the Mercury coloured buried case. The rhythm was out of time, and left an annoying echo in my ears.
Across the isle, to my left, Akira sat with Seidou, a bored look adorning both of their features.
Itsuki yelled into the microphone, although it was unnecessary, the commander felt he needed to be heard clearly. I wasn't really paying attention to what he was saying, only picking up a few words between sentences.
"-gourmet's"
The usual, they never seemed to disappear.
"Jason......Unclear"
Another topic that always seemed to come up. No one had seen the S-rated ghoul since his and Mado's battle. Some spread rumours, saying that he was hiding underground to gather troops. The CCG hoped he was dead, possibly killed by another ghoul. I preferred to believe the latter.
"-terrorist organisations"
At those words, I perked up. It was no secret that ghouls were killing one-another, some in large groups. Similar to the Jason Rumours, there had been a spread although CCG. 'Ghouls are rallying, fighting for dominance over wards.'
I knew all to much about the topic, seeing as I was, after all, associated with one.
"Eyepatch."
Then I froze.
The name was enough to send shivers down your spine, and rattle an investigator. Otherwise known as the 'One Eyed King', the Ghoul was among the highest ranks. Very few CCG members have confronted him, and those who have returned were to traumatised to utter a word.
Shinohara, one of the best special-ranking officers, had faced the ghoul. Almost lost a limb, but escaped in time to report that Eyepatch was a Kakuja.
Kakuja's were rare, and aside from Eyepatch, there was only one other known Kakuja; The One Eyed Owl. Both of them were the CCG's strongest enemies, ranked SSS.Mado nudged my arm, annoying enough, interrupting my train of though. "You better listen, this might be important!" He didn't even look at me when he spoke, his crazy eyes watching Itsuki carefully. I knew better than to judge him by his looks. He was one of the most skilled officers I have ever meet, but our loyalties lay in different places.
"After discussing with my superiors, we have decided to discharge the list, to both you and the public."
Suddenly, no one seemed bored anymore.
The list was classified to anyone under a commander. It contained every single name of every ghoul ever encountered by the CCG, including all their known information. I wasn't sure how long the list was, but it consisted of hundreds of names, from all over the world.
"The list will be released on live television tomorrow night, 8 o'clock sharp. I expect you all to watch. We will be re-categorising you into wards afterwards."
Akira's hand shot up. "Yes, Miss Mado?" All eyes shot to her.
"How many names will be advertised?" Almost in unison, curious eyes moved from the blond to Itsuki, who didn't flatter at the question.
"The top 50. We will release the top 100 to all CCG members afterwards."
I nodded thoughtfully, shifting in his seat to glance towards Akira and Seidou. We shared a look, one that clearly spoke; Anteiku tonight, 8 sharp.~~~
Ayato P.O.V
7:42pm.
Everyone sat scattered across the room, eyes trained in the small T.V. After Amon had made an entrance, with Akira and Seidou, they had explained that the 'list' was being released.
Yoshimura had closed up shop while Touka and Kaya cleaned up. Hinami had attempted to help, but was pulled away by Ryouko.
I sat next to my sister, right in front of the television. Hinami sat on her mothers lap, who was to Touka's left. Yomo, Uta and Shuu were leaning against the wall behind us, while Yoshimura was on the arm chair to my left. Kaya and Enji shared the double couch diagonal to Yoskimira, feet stretched out to lean on the coffee table. There was one couch left, across from them for Amon, Akira and Seidou. Nishki and Hide were forced to sit on the floor, due to being the last one's to arrive.
