Phil's PoV:

Dan tried to tell me about how the world was going to end, his voice light and jokingly.

Only Dan could make the end of the world seem funny. I've been at college for nearly two months but I still get lost.

Not that Dan is much help, he's about as good at not getting lost as I am, which is not good at all.

"We're going to be late" I interrupt.
Dan looks at his phone screen before replying" shit, we are aren't we".

In true fashion we're both late, me with sweat dripping down my face, and Dan, keeling over with a bad stitch.

We both get detention as a result, something we rarely get.

"At least it's only half an hour" I tsay, trying to lighten the mood.

Dan's stomach grumbles loudly in protest.

"This is fucking torture" he grumpily mutters.

"We'll still have a while to eat lunch"
I say.

Dan lies his head on the desk and stays there for most of detention.

"I think I may have fallen into a hunger induced coma back there" he admits as we step out of the detention room.

I just shake my head and smile.

We quickly jog to the nearest Starbucks, both of us out of breath by the time we get there.

"I'll have a pumpkin spice latte please" I beam to the cashier.

"I'll, um just have an um, coffee to go" Dan mumbles awkwardly.

We grab our drinks then go to the park to eat our sandwiches and drink our Starbucks.

"Are you enjoying your um coffee um" I tease.

"Your mums an um coffee" Dan says while sticking his tongue out at me.

"Rude much, my mums offended"
I say as I jokingly prod his shoulder.

And before long it's a full on battle, only ending when Dan grabs my banana peel and starts whipping me with it.

"Ow ow I surrender, stop with the babuse" I Yelp, holding my hands out in front.

A mother with her two children tuts and shakes her head at us, making us both crack up in laughter.

"We better run if we don't want to be late" I say as I down the rest of my pumpkin spice and grab my backpack.

Dan does the same and we walk out of the park, me smelling faintly of bananas and Dan still laughing a little bit, at the mother with her kids.
