19. Great Friends

It's Saturday. D-day is finally there and I feel like I've never been so nervous. Bryn came as promised to my place yesterday and is now getting ready in the bathroom.

I'm still curious who texted me those hilarious messages about Byungho and if he really "won't be the same" today.

"Okay, are you ready?", Bryn asks me while stepping out of the bathroom.

"Yea, let's go.", I answer, get my backpack and leave the room with her.

30 minutes later we arrive at the Mnet building meeting up with Geonah, Soorin and the others.

"I'll see you later guys!", I wave at them and make my way to the backstage area.

Knocking on the door first I step inside the room. I greet my brother, Hamin and Kangwoo with a hug and sit on the bench.

"Where's Byungho?", I ask, actually curious where he is.

"He's at the restroom right now.", Hamin answers my question.

I want to know what the unknown person means. Why should Byungho suddenly change?

'Gyeongin East Region please prepare for the rehearsal'

"Okay, let's get a last check up before the final stage.", my brother stands up, leading us to the main hall.

The hall is empty while the audience is waiting outside the building. Hamin and I sit on the stairs to watch Kangwoo's and Byungho's rehearsal. Talking about the devil, he steps out of the door and takes a microphone given by a staff member.

I watch every step he does. How he's going up the stage, how he discusses a last time with Kangwoo and how he gives me and Hamin a glance full of judgement.

"Jieun-ah, are you okay?", the silver haired boy next to me asks me, pulling me out of my thaughts.

"Ye-yeah I'm okay. Just some weird thaughts at the moment."

"You can talk to me, you know? I mean, just if you feel comfortable with it."

That's actually not a bad idea...Hamin is one of Byungho's closest friends and he seems like I can trust him. Maybe he knows if something is not okay.

"Well I faught with Byungho some days ago and my plan was to talk with him about it today. Yesterday I got those messages."

He takes my phone and reads the chat I had with the mysterious number.

"Wow...Thats...Fucking creepy...", Hamin says and gives me my phone back.

"It is, right? Did you noticed some weird actions Byungho did today?"

"No, not really...He's just was really, really quiet today. You should definitely talk with him later. What if this number texted him, too?"

"Bryn told me that he didn't got any messages..."

"What if he was lying?"

"That's...possible..."

"Could I ask what happend in your fight?"

I was about to start talking but suddenly the music stopped playing.

Kangwoo did a small mistake and they do the rehearsal one more time aka I have time to tell Hamin the story.
