They left the next day on the tour of Pastopia. It was an enjoyable time, but it ended a week earlier than had been planned. With two weddings to be held before the summer was over, most people saw it best to return to Cenna as quickly as possible. Especially those who were to be in the weddings.
The queen was overjoyed at seeing her daughters again and pleased to see how happy Tevra and Quinn were with their husbands-to-be. With the news of the couples already in the city, the weddings had been prepared for. There had been some debate over how long of a wait there should be between both weddings and at first a week had been suggested, but when Klyde refused to wait a week, they decided to have them one day apart. Jravic and Quinn would be married first, since he was the elder of the brothers.
Since Pastopian weddings were held outside, the garden was chosen and decorated for the ceremony. It wasn't long before the weddings actually took place after that. With fall approaching and Jravic wanting to be back in Tain before the leaves fell, the sooner was better. No one else saw any reason to object.
Tevra was right in that the king would provide for them. He gave a house to both couples as their home whenever they were in Pastopia. All their things were moved into them the day before Quinn's wedding in preparation.
There was a large group of people to see them off because they left directly from another wedding. Claretta's. While her other sisters had been away, she had remained. A man had left Cenna four years before, but that summer he returned. He was the same man she had loved before. In her father's absence, they had been able to reach an agreement. When he returned, they were able to convince him.
The king patted the queen's arm as she waved to her daughters, in tears. "There, there," he said. "We still have seven to go."
