Chapter 3

I wake up and I'm in a happy mood. I can hear my mom and dad talking to some people downstairs. I decide to see what's happening and walk down stairs. My mom was angry I could see it in her face, I look over into the kitchen and my dad is talking to two men dressed in all black. They look at me and ask "How well did you know Luka Smith, and do you know if he had any enemies?" I start tearing up, because I hadn't remembered anything about what had happened to him. Last night made me forget about the sad things. "I knew Luka through mutual friends, we went to the same parties and that's it. He was a very kind person during school, but out of it he would roam the streets." I say to them in a serious manner. They explain to us that they were interviewing people every student. I ask how will they do that, there is over 900 kids at Pine Grove! "Have a nice day and stay safe out there." One of the men tells us as they walk out and pull out of our drive way. My parents give me a hug and head off to work, since I didn't have school today. I was going to clean up a little and relax. Then I get a call from Cameron. "Hey Teara we are all waiting for you on the roof! Are you coming, or do you want me to tell them no?" she says kind of loud. I completely forgot about meeting them, so I tell her I will be there in 5 minutes. I rush and get dressed brush my teeth, and grab a granola bar.

"HEY LOOK WHO IT IS, WALKING DOWN THE STREET LOOKING HELLA SEXY!" a voice behind me says. I turn around in shock to who was behind me. "Oh my god, Joey!" I say historically. I run up to him and give him a huge hug. Joey is my boy best friend, and we were always having feelings for each other but we tried hiding it. He had went away to a military camp the whole summer and he couldn't have a phone. "How are you, I missed you so much. It turns out I will be going to pgms this year." He says with a huge smile. "Im awesome now, but something crazy has happened in that school, Luka Smith died yesterday mysteriously." I tell him. He hugs me and we start walking, he ask where I was going, and I explain to him that my new friends want to have a meeting. "Can I come, I want some new people to meet?" he says walking backwards in front of me.

When I get to the school I see a group of kids playing music, and laughing having a good time waiting for me. Me and Joey climb up and as soon as one foot touches the roof, I feel someone pick me up and twirl me around. It was Jax, he stops and hugs me then he looks at Joey. "Hey Teara, we missed you, well I missed you!" Jax says blushing. "Hey, I totally forgot about this meeting, but im here now. Everyone here knows Joey right? Well everyone except Jax and Brien." I tell them. Collene and Cameron get up and starts giving their speech. They say that the police where at their house this morning. Cameron explained how we should work together and solve the meaning behind Luka's death. "Yeah that all sounds good, but who's the new guy?" Jax and Brien ask. "I'm not new, I have known Teara since kindergarten. I believe you owe me an apology for being rude." Joey says sternly. "Chill bro im just joking, no need to be defensive." Brien says. Collene finishes her speech and tears up. Right then and there I had remembered how much of a crush she had on Luka. He was everything to her, but he never notice her more than just a friend.
