I remember good old USA. I remember the McDonalds on every corner,  the Metro stops every other block, and best of all, the people that we met everywhere, from Times Square, and back.
Sadly, mom got a new job and now we have to move. Typical, right? Nah, not when you have to go from New York City to Birmingham, London. Well, yeah. That's my sad, cringey life.

"(Y/N), snap out of that day dream, we're here." My dad jolted me out of my brooding. I looked at him glumly. "Coolio." My mom turned to look at me. "Be grateful. This flight cost us thousands,  but we love you and thought about your comfort-" "Yeah, sure." I grumbled.

They glared at me but said nothing. I resumed my thinking, which only made me angrier. Suddenly, the Captain's voice blared over the airplane speakers. "ATTENTION, THE AIRPLANE HAS LANDED. STAY IN YOUR SEATS UNTIL A FLIGHT ATTENDANT COMES TO ESCORT YOU OUT OF THE PLANE"
The speaker blared once more and my mom winced and pursed her lips. Soon, a pudgy flight attendant rapped my dad on the shoulder. "Excuse me, but its time for you to get off." "Ah, yes. Thank you!" My mom gave her a tight smile and pulled my sleeve. We got off the plane and spent at least an hour waiting for the luggage. Since we came from a tiny apartment,  we had very fee personal belongings. I grabbed the faded pink one-mine-and hurried after my parents. We found a taxi cab and he drove us to Birmingham's suburbs.
My jaw dropped. The houses we're huge, but the nearest neighbor was, like, a three minute's walk away! "(Y/N), do you like it?" My mom pointed at a two story faded blue house with peeling shutters and a metal shed in the back. I did not have any words. But for my parents' sake, I smiled. "It's wonderful!" Relieved, my mother led us in to the house, where her mood changed abruptly as soon as she saw a stack of papers on the table. "School starts tomorrow. I expect you to wake up without me having to do it for you. I sighed and clumped up the stairs to an empty room. I took a pencil from my pocket and used it to scratch my initials on the wall. 'My room now...' I then checked my watch. 7:56 pm. 'I might as well go to sleep..' I plunked my (f/c) colored purse on the floor and laud my head on the floor. Fatigue overwhelmed me and I fell asleep within seconds.
