I've encountered these past things in the last 15 minutes
-A vaping contest near the back doors
-2 couples making out in some unusually dark corners
-Thumping from the upstairs bedroom
-And a really bright pair of blue eyes from across the room
He tried to meet my eyes, but I shut them out.
Because if he looked too closely, I was afraid I wouldn't be able to stop him, or more of stop them.
I breathed out a puff of agitation and scolded myself for even coming here, or better yet agreeing to have Max drag me against my will to this foul party. I could be studying the wonders of statistics or the Russo-Japanese War, but instead if I even inhaled for a minute, I could be high off my ass at this place.
I felt a cautious hand touch my shoulder from when I turned around, and those same blue eyes from across the room caught and held my own plain brown ones. The corners of his lips turned up into a small smile, "I haven't seen you around here before."

"That's because you never made much an effort to look," I, excuse me, Ashley hiccuped. He arched an eyebrow in shock and laughed.
His laugh rang in my ears, and for the first time, even Ashley was speechless.
