I adored rain, it was one of the main reasons I moved to seattle, but in times like these I dreaded it. Rushing out of the cafe the rain instantly drentching me washing the delightful aroma of coffee away. Signing I Used the newspaper I had just finished, as cover a flagged down a cab. Smiling in delight as one pulled up, I quickly opened the door and slid in. To my surpised so did someone else.
"Um excuse me this is my cab" I explained to the casually dressed man.
"well seeing how we both got in at the same time and the amount of rain that is coming down I don't mind sharing, if you don't that is" he said with a smirk
I took time to give him a once over. To put it simly he was noticeably handsome, olive skin with dark thick hair. His facial hair was well trimmed, he had on light jeans and nice fitting jacket.
breaking me from my trance I heard him clear his throat "I understand my looks can be compelling but the cab driver needs a loction"
Beating bright red from looking a second to long I nodded "you can give him your adress first, i dont mind"
"so you can stalk me like a crazy lady? no way" he replied grinning "ladies first"
clearing my throat " 223 Yesler way, please" the cab immediately took off throwing me back into the seat. Glancing over i saw the man smiling at me. Nerviously I tucked my bangs behind my ears and straightened my scarf.
"My names Elliot"
"Charlie"
"So Charlie, how old are you?"
"now who's the stalker?" i asked with a small smirk
"im just trying to decide if you're to young for me to ask on a date"
"I'm 22"
"well no way i can take you out, thats like dating my yougest sister" he responded "shes nearly 2 years younger than me
" oh i see..." i respond looking at him like hes a crazy man
"this where you laugh, that was supposed to be a joke" i says scratching his head
"That was a bad joke man, miss we are here" the cab driver announces
"thanks for the back up dude" elliot restorts to the cab driver who mearly shrugs
giggling I go to hand the driver my cash
"Don't. Consider it thanks for not making me get out into the rain, you totally got into the cab first." Elliot says with a dazzlig smile
"well thank you then" I say stuffing the cash back into my purse
"can I take you out tomorrow night ?" he asked
"no" i replied almost automatically. He looked a mixture of confused and hurt
"Oh! I didnt mean it like that! I just work all night"
" how does mornign coffee sound then?"
"That actually sounds perfect" I smiled "here give me your phone..theres my number" handing him back his phone I went to back up tripping over thee curb and falling on my ass.
"oh wow here, let me help you up" he says stiffling a smirk
Dying of embarssment i dust myself off give a quick farewell and rush inside the apartment complex"WINE! I need wine callie! I yell while openinng the door to my surprise my best friend is sittinng on the counter with two glasses already poured
"Don't worry I saw everthing go down from the balcony, your welcome for not hysterically lauhging and drawing attention to myself by the way... and surprise i figured you'd want this too!" she slid a shot my way "but you're drinking it weather you want to or not.. cheers!" slamming that one down on the counter she poured another
her bedroom door opened and her boyfriend came out rubbing his eyes "babe you were just in bed why are you drinnking again"
"Night cap" we responde in a duh unison tone
"i can't deal with you two right now I have to work in the moring"
"nighttttt Joshy" I sing
"Night Char" he mumbles "Don't get her wasted tonight"
"we promise nothing!" Cal responds for the both of us
"now you tell me why you were inn a cab with a mystery dude" she says adressing me
after explaning everything in vivid detail to her pleasure, I check my phone to a text from a random number, assuming it's Elliot i quickly open it
"Goodnight Charlie, i'll pick you at 8 tomorrow morning."
"fuck with him dude" cal says reading over my shoulder
giglinng okay okay "I'm sorry who is this? My names not charlie"
"my apologies." the response came almost immediatly
"see, that's a joke. Your age joke was simply awful" i hit send smiling
"ha. ha. very clever, charlie"
"goodnight, Elliot" turning on music I jumped in the shower.
