The engine roared to life. My father was always buying me new cars, acting like money can buy back my love. But I was fine with that. I was a drag racer and always wreaking my cars. I was going up the newest champion and on a dangerous track. Just looking at the map made my heart race, and having my boyfriend Ethan in the stands to watch me race got me pretty excited as well. Alright, I admit, I’m an adrenaline junkie, but have you ever been racing? It’s amazing! The cheers and screams of the crowd, the way the car purrs as it’s racing down the track. It’s music to my ears. The lights turn red, then yellow and three sets of green. I peel out and get a great head start. Thank you, dad. I cut a sharp corner and my opponent gains on me, but not for long. I quickly gained back the track I had lost and was once again leading the lap. I never was ashamed of playing dirty and never hesitated to if my rep was up for grabs. Sure this guy was a camp but no doubt he would be losing to me, we had just gotten out of the starting gate and the race was already mine. I turned the next corner easily, but that’s where it all went wrong. The car’s brakes locked up and the steering wheel wouldn’t turn. I was hurtling toward the mountain side and had no way to prevent what was going to happen…
The crowd jumped over the stands and where all racing to me, even my opponent had stopped to see if I was alright. The car had flipped in the air twice and landed on the roof. I was tossed and slammed into the door heavily. The last thing I remember seeing was a herd of people rushing to me.

It all happened so quickly. I had always loved watching Micheal’s races. Of course I was upset with him that this was the life he had chosen and I never would have even thought my worst fears would have come true right before my eyes. It was the first time I had agreed to come and watch his race in person. This race meant so much to him. He would be going up one of the reigning champions, and knowing Micheal he would have no problem cheating if it meant he would win. Micheal always had a tendency to boast and have a big mouth about his racing. He would go on and on about how fast his cars go or how easy the track was to drive. He even tried to convince me to take a ride with him. Now I love Micheal with all my heart, but I would never let him sit in front of the wheel while I’m in the vehicle. It sounds horrible I know.
The crash happened so fast. The crowd was cheering and roaring, everyone was enjoying the race when all of a sudden, Micheal’s car just freaked. The tries locked in place and that sent the car flying into the mountain side. I didn’t think what I had seen was real at first, but when reality hit me all I could think about was Micheal. Was he dead? Would he be alright? By that time most of the crowd had jumped the barriers and where rushing to the scene. Some were on their cell phones calling the paramedics and others where taking pictures, all trying to see into the car.
Once the paramedics had arrived they had managed to clear the crowd and where working on trying to free Micheal. He was pinned tightly and the car had started to smoke. They acted fast and soon had him resting on a gurney and had hooked up a few machines to him. It took some convincing to let the police let me threw to see him but they finally gave in. I rushed over and took his hand, holding it tightly and praying he would be alright. His face was badly beaten up and scratched. They soon loaded him up and had asked if I was going to ride with him. I agreed of course and that’s when they started asking me questions.
“Full Name?”
“…M-mine or his?” I was too worried to think clearly
“His, sir.”
“M-Micheal Knight,” I answered, feeling stupid. Why would they want to know my name? The paramedic nodded and scribbled my answers down before looking at the machines and looking back down at his note pad. We pulled up to the hospital and the ambulance’s doors swung open. About 5 other doctors and nurses had surround us and where all asking questions and trying to unload everything at once. I stayed back and out of the way the best I could while everything unfolded. Once the doctors had hopped down I followed them and was soon stopped by another nurse to fill out paper work. I didn’t want to do this. I wanted to tell the nurse to just wait for Micheal’s dad so I could be by his side. I reluctantly took the clipboard and walked to a chair. I took one look at the paper and sighed, both in annoyance and worry. I didn’t know most of this stuff. I was Micheal’s boyfriend not one of his parents. I bit my lip and filled out what I could all the while hoping and praying Micheal would wake up soon.
