Chapter 1

The Plane

~zip~

Ok, done packing

Sighing, I looked at the time. 10:38 p.m. Traveling to England will be so exciting! But nursing school is so tiring.

"Katey, you should probably go to bed if you're waking up at 5:30."

Looking at Monica, my roommate, I agreed. Snuggled under my 7 blankets, I closed my eyes and drifted off to sleep.

"Katey, Katey!" Monica whispers and fiercely shakes me in my sleep. Waking up, i'm all sweaty, breathing hard, and tears rolling down my cheeks.

Another bad dream.

"I'm sorry, Mon." I tell her.

"It's ok. You can't help it." She smiles and answers. I climb out of bed and make myself a cup of tea. I always feel British when I drink tea. After showering, I say bye to Monica and leave to meet my friend Sierra, who's taking me to the airport.

"Don't you look dazzling in your blue sundress and brown hair up!" Sierra greeted me.

I nudge her shoulder.

"Let's go." I tell her.

I look at my watch. 6:30. Another 40 minutes till my place comes.

Standing there in the crowded airport, three little kids run into me and knock everything out of my hands. After recovering, I go back to my normal self and position. Confused as to where I am to go, I hear a masculine voice.

"Need help?"

I look up to see a pair of bright blue eyes and dark brown hair.

"I...uh...uhhhh..." was my reply.

Wow. He's gorgeous.

Laughing adorably, he held out his hand.

"I'm Ryan. Pleased to meet you." He told me.

Not only is he Ryan, he's Australian too. Was a random thought in my head.

"Katey." I replied, taking him hand. It was a lot bigger than mine!

He obviously works out

"Can I buy you some coffee?" He questioned me.

"S-sure." I replied.

Stop studdering!! I tell myself.

Catching a glimpse of his jacket, it says U.S. Army on the back. He comes back with our coffees.

"Thanks." I say, breaking the silence. Looking at my watch, I see if have 20 minutes till my plane leaves.

"I-I have to go... I'm sorry! Thanks again!" I run away before he could say anything else.

"Wait!" I hear him yell. Looking back, I see him pointing towards the plane I'm boarding. The flight attendant escorts me on and I take my seat. I feel tears forming in my eyes.

That was jerky of me. I could have at least payed him back.

I have a little hope left that I can meet him again.
