Trapped

He glanced over at the decaying clock. 17:46.
"Ah" he sighed, "trapped here for another night - is there really no electricity either?" He recognised that his sanity was on a timer, which was quickly running out. He closed his eyes and waited for the sudden, rapid ring of the clock as it hit 18:00. For Alix knew who was waiting for him during each day.

The clock shrieked. He swiped it in annoyance and it crashed on to the floor; smashed. Broken. A lot like himself.

"You appear to be tense - what's troubling you?" Spoke a soft, light voice. Peering from the shadows, she lurked.
"You ask such unnecessary questions. You are present. Is that not enough for you, to know why I am afraid?" He replied rather ignorantly, sat in the corner of the wretched, murky room. Hairs stuck up from his arms and the back of his neck, he knew she was to be feared.

The floorboards creeked and groaned, cried and squeaked. She wandered over slowly, only the glistening of her sharp teeth pierced the gloom. It was clear, what she was after. What she had been after, every night she had kept him here as her pet...
