Prologue

Ida walked through the hallway alone. She kept her eyes on the floor while she walked. The kids who walked past her stared at her. Some  whispered something to their friends. Others made fun of her, and people even ruder jeered at her. Tears filled her beautiful eyes and threatened to slide down her smooth cheeks. She half ran-half walked until she reached the red Tesla waiting for her. She didn't wait for the chauffeur to open it for her. She yanked it open and sat down heavily on the soft, velvet covered seat. As the engine revved to life and the car had started to slide like a slab of ice on water,she thought:
I am tired of this. I am  tired of everything. Why does it seem as if the world is against my very existence?
The tears that had filled her eyes a minute ago had already made it through with their journey on her cheeks. And a new set  of saline had started to exude the same attitude of threatening her eyes as well as her cheeks. As they made their way down to her neck, they also rocked her to another one of the haunting sleeps she despised. Life is unfair and it sucks. She thought as she drifted off.
