"R-Rick... We shouldn't be here! It's dangerous we should go!" Morty stuttered out hugging himself as he glanced around the eerie corridor.
"S-Shuddup M-Morty! It's fine stop being such a little b-urrrp-itch" Rick stumbled around with his words and feet as he walked. Morty didn't know whether he should be worried about Rick or the fact that this was a very dangerous part of the Citadel they were just waltzing through. He shifted his stride uncomfortably and whimpered.
"N-No seriously Rick! I want to go home!!.... Please," he plead, whimpering. Rick rolled his eyes and continued down the hall. He turned at one of the doors and opened it a bit cautiously. Peeking in and seeing no one in the room, he grinned.
"Come on Morty," he waved his hand for Morty to come over. Morty grimaced at Rick; how he always just blew him off and ignored him really got to him sometimes. He followed Rick into the room hesitantly and glanced around. It was filled with high tech computers and machines. In the middle of the room was where Rick was headed; there was a green glowing orb floating in the middle of a glass box set atop a podium. Rick grinned and reached for it. He lifted the glass and an alarm started blaring.
"SHIT!" Rick yelled and grabbed the orb, shoving it in his pocket.
"Come on Morty! We gotta get out of here!!!" He grabbed Morty's arm and sprinted out of the room. Aliens flooded out of the rooms behind them with guns, yelling and shooting at them. Pulling his portal gun from his pocket as he ran, he shot it at the ground and jumped in, Morty being pulled in with him. Rick passed through the portal before Morty had heard one last gunshot.
Rick had his back turned, oblivious as he admired the orb.
"W-We did it Morty! We got it, see? Nothing went wro-" he paused as he turned around and saw Morty bleeding out on the floor.
"Oh my god!!! Morty!" Rick rushed over falling to his knees beside Morty. He lifted him onto his lap. Morty was holding a gunshot wound with his hand his breathing shallow and tears welled in his eyes.
"R-Rick it hurts... it hurts r-real bad..!" He whimpered, tears rolling down his cheek.
"I... I know Morty... just breathe, I'll.... I'll fix this!" He got up scrambling around the room for anything; he threw open a drawer finding he had run out of every healing serum he had.
"No! No! No!!! SHIT!" He ran back over to Morty hugging him tightly. He didn't know what else to do at this point so he pulled out his portal gun shooting a portal at the wall, he lifted Morty and jumped through. He screamed for help until finally a doctor rushed over, quickly taking Morty to the emergency room.
Only 30 minutes later a saddened doctor walked out of the room frowning. "I'm sorry we did everything we could but... he didn't make it..." Rick looked up his eyes widening. "W-What!" he yelled standing up quickly. He ran as fast as he could to the operating rooms as doctors tried to stop him. "No! No he's not dead! I'll fix this! I can fix this!" He screamed bursting into the room. He glanced around the room and grabbed the defibrillator, rubbing the paddles; he began to repeatedly shock Morty's corpse. "No! Morty! WAKE UP YOU FUCKING ASSHOLE!! I'M NOT DONE WITH YOU." Rick screamed, tears rolling down his cheeks as he continued to shock the lifeless body. "After all we've been through, you're going to let a fucking bullet kill you Morty!" he yelled. Doctors rushed into the room, grabbing and trying to hold him back as he flailed and kicked them; they had to dodge from getting shocked by the paddles. "Morty! Please... No! Not like this!" Rick cried out and finally stopped struggling, too many sets of arms holding him back. "M-Morty.... I'm sorry." He crumpled to his knees and sobbed on the floor, grasping Morty's lifeless hand as doctors gathered around him.
