       Chapter 2: Another World!?

When I opened my eyes I was in my room, laying in bed. I looked around in confusion with the thought, it must have been a dream, running through my head. I glanced at the clock; it was 11:57. "No." I said to myself. "It was just a- Oh crap! My brother!!"

I jumped up to the realization that I hadn't picked my brother up from school. I rushed to his room, but to my surprise he was tucked in, sleeping. ".....It had to have been a dream..." I whispered walking back to my room. I plopped down on the bed staring at the clock.

11:59 it read. I didn't believe for a second in that dreams story, but I couldn't help but obey Larry's distant words. "Wait for the signal at midnight and open your window." Even though I didn't believe I still went to the window. Even though I didn't believe I opened it and waited expectantly as if something amazing were about to happen.

Just as that thought entered my mind, a blinding rainbow of lights shone into my room. I was engulfed by a warm, brilliant light that made me feel as though I was in midair. I shut my eyes thinking that I had become delirious from my recent dream. "Open your eyes, Derek. We are taking you to a world where your true path will shine." I heard a soothing feminine voice call, the same one that was among the cloaked figures in my dream. For some reason the voice had calmed me down, and as I opened my eyes I was greeted by a beautiful woman in a green silk gown with embroidered flower patterns. She had flawless, gorgeous white skin. Her hair was long enough to reach her back and was a golden colour.

She was the embodiment of beauty. I couldn't look away. All I could think of, was how gorgeous she was; not even the thought of what was happening entered my mind. I couldn't move, I couldn't speak, all I could do was wait and see what would happen. I'm not sure when, but behind her i could see a slowly forming forest. It puzzled me. To think that a few moments ago I was in my room, and now i'm God knows where.

Appearing before my eyes was a beautiful evergreen Forest. Slowly, but surely an ever forming forest was entering my sights. When I looked back there was a thicket of brush behind me; nothing but green everywhere I looked. When I turned to look at the woman she had dissappeared, and I was alone, standing in a forest far away from home; away from any natural existance. Confusion. That was the only thing my mind could fathum. The world as I knew it was gone, there was noone here, and I began to sink into dispare as that sad truth sank in...

I sat against a tree staring at the sky, "Where am I? Why did I listen to the dream? Would things be different had I not?" I wondered aloud. I could not get a grip on what was happening to me. I knew that if nothing else I had to figure that out. I stood up with new determination, and started heading toward where the sun was setting. Judging from it's position I would guess it was about 2pm. I must have been walking for quite a while, because by the time I reached the edge of the forest it was pretty dark.

Walking aimlessly got me nowhere, but at least I was out of the forest. I continued in the same direction I had been until I began to wonder if anything was actually in this area. I was about to head back to the forest when a horse drawn carriage came rushing down the road, nearly running me over. Luckily the horse had some sense and stopped before it turned me to mush. "Get out of the way! Don't just stand in the middle of the road! It's dangerous!" The person steering the carriage yelled in a deep raspy voice.

"S-sorry." I apologized staring at the green bumpy skinned creature.

        "MOVE" He shouted glaring.

"....O....kay..." I moved, still staring. What the hell is this, what the hell Is HE?! He snapped the whip causing the horse to neigh loudly. The horse galaped away to a very lit city some ways away in the distance. "Finally..." I sighed as I headed toward the unknown city. When I entered the city, the bustle of a normal city greeted me, but with a weird taste to it. Creatures of all different shapes and sizes going around minding their own buissness like this was the norm

I was completely baffled by what I was witnessing. I just couldn't believe such a place could ever exist. Unbeknownst to me I found myself in what I could only assume was the central area of the humongous and extravagant city. Looking up I saw a castle that stood as high as Mt. Everest. Just outside that very castle a huge crowd began to form, maybe an event of some sort?

People, if you can call them that, were cheering and yelling as a figure came to one of the balcony windows that was so high a bird would be afraid. It was a woman that gave off an untouchable vibe, and as one could guess she was. The woman raised a hand and all noise ceased, all the screaming, cheering, conversations, everything stopped.

"Hello to all whom hath come to my city to hear my words, and I thank you. As you all know we have been under attack as of late by thine worst enemy thus far; Dreamond the demon caller-

"What art thou going to do to save us, your Majesty?!" some random person from the crowd called, and like it was natural everyone else chimed in. This was very weird. They called her Your Majesty, as in a Queen or Princess? There hasn't been anyone of this title for centuries other than England, not to mention the way speak. Also, who the hell is this Dreamond guy and what's up with the demon caller part?

"Please commoners, do not address thy Highness in such a way!"  a tall guy in polished silvery armor retorted. "Please your Highness, continue."

"Grammarcy, Vladimir." The woman continued. "As I was saying, we have a big threat on our hands; Dreamond the demon caller, who has been plaguing our people for the better part of one year. Mine own father hath fallen ill, due to the stress of dealing with Dreamond. Now, we hath devised a sound plan to combat this impeding threat; that is the hero that we have asked Elizabeth, our witch to bring to us. Please Elizabeth show him to us."

"Yes your Majesty." I heard in a familiar tone of voice. "The hero ye hath wished for is in this very congregation." I recognized the voice, but too late. "THERE!" the beautiful woman in the green silk dress said with a wonderfully smooth voice that could melt ice, while pointing in the crowd. The restless crowd that was once screaming and demanding answers, was now making way in search of the one the woman had just pointed at. "Sir Derek." she called. "Come hither to thine destiny." And as if by magic, I slowly began walking toward the castle entrance.
