Hai. I know I haven't updated, and I doubt that many people even read this 'story', but even so, here's the second chapter. If you've already read the first chapter, it's probably a good idea to go back and read it again, as I've changed some things about it that I think make the story better. Remember, critique is welcome, as always. So, without further ado, here is chapter 2 (holy slashfic that rhymed!).

 -ChApTeR 2-

When I open to the door to the classroom, I find the teacher sleeping at his desk, drooling might I add and I stiffle a fit of laughter by biting my lip. My gaze sweeps from the teacher to the back of the room, where I see five pairs of eyes looking at me curiously, all at the back of the room. I keep my head down and trudge to one of the desks. As I set my bag down with an audible thudI gaze down at the splintering wooden desk under my clasped hands.

I take out my little black book, flipping through the pages until I find the page I'm looking for. There, inbetween the pages, I unfold the ripped piece of paper until I come face to face with my mothers drawing of my father, Luna and I. We look so happy, frozen in one of my mother's pitcure perfect 'sketches'. I sigh. Why? That is my question to the world. Why would the world take away some of the most loving people on the planet. Why couldn't it have been Carl, or someone who only takes away from the world, using and manipulating people against each other for his own sick form of entertainment. I've seen that animal tear apart families without even batting an eye.

As I hear the scraping of metal against the plain plastic floors, I hastily put away my mother's drawing. I have enough trouble as it is. I slowly look up from underneath my eyelashes, and see a boy sitting next to me with tousled brown hair and eyes that are the color of pools of melting hazel, framed by rectangular glasses that are slightly  dorky. How he still manages to make them look atractive at the same time, I have no idea.

He quirks an eyebrow at me. "So, are you new here, or what?" He seems to have a slight trace of an accent in his voice, but I can't tell what it is. British? Australian? I can't seem to tell. I'm leaning more towards Great Britian, however.

I flush slightly and murmer back a 'no'.

Luckily or unluckily, he seems to have heard me. "Well then, I'm Alexander Rogers, but call me Alex. And you are?"

"Rebecca... Raven" I say back quietly, still looking down at the damaged desk, my face no doubt a nice shade of pink.  Why in the hell is he talking to me? I want to ask that question straight out, but I don't have the guts anymore. The old Rebecca may have asked it, her head high and the hint of a smirk on her lips, but that girl isn't me. At least, not anymore; and I don't think I will ever be her again. If only life were that simple.

While I've been going through my slight mental rant, I realize that Alex has been trying to talk to me, and is now poking at my cheek, trying to get my attention. I go a slightly deeper pink color. He chuckles, eveidently amused by my actions, and I glare at him.

"What?" I hiss through my teeth.

"Nothing, you just seemed to stare out into space, and whatever you were thinking about didn't seem all like rainbows and butterflies."

"How did you know that?" I shoot back at him, a little louder than before.

"You were frowning slightly, and you're eyes seemed to become swirling with negative emotions."

I gape at him. Was he really paying that close attention to me? I mean, no one ever has, outside of my family, really. "How in the hell did you get that just from looking at me?"
