I walked down the street, like so many days before, searching. For something or someone I couldn't remember the name of. Find it... Bennett witch... Find it... Bennett witch... Mystic Falls! Go now! Find it! The voices gnawed at my mind until I went to go punch a wall and heard a gasp of surprise. I opened my eyes and saw I had pinned a girl to the wall. A girl with long brown hair and chocolate eyes stared up at me. Her brown skin looked almost like caramel in the lights above us. And everything stopped. The voices, the feeling of something I'd lost.

"Hello-o?" He snapped in front of my face. I stumbled back and put a hand to my head, wondering where the hell I was. I looked up and saw the Mystic Grill. "I asked you a question." She says.

"I'm sorry, but how did I get here?" I asked looking her in the eyes. Something felt different about her.

"With your feet, I'm presuming." She laughed at her own smartass comment. "You got a spunk about you. I like that." She smiled and held out a hand. "Bonine Bennett."

"Eugene Gallagher." I shook it and smiled. Her warmth made me feel human again. WHOLE again. "I guess I just moved here." I stumble out rubbing the nape of my neck.

"Really? I live with my gram just a few blocks from here. I've lived here my entire life. Maybe I could show you around?" She tilted her head and smiled.

"I'd like that." I smiled and handed her my phone. She put her number in it and handed it back before walking away and around the corner. I rubbed my hair and walked around town a little more now that I was free of whatever THAT was. I found some keys in my pocket and found my way to where I was staying. All of the drawings made sense now. Why I only saw fragments and brown. It was her, Bonnie Bennett. I rearranged them to form her face, which I had missed seeing. I didn't want to obsess over her but something kept my mind on it. Had I been compelled? Had I been bewitched? I opened my grimoire and flipped through the pages wondering what the hell could be going on. I saw nothing that could make a person seek out another person or thing. I must've been compelled.

I sat back letting my shoulder-length dreadlocks out of their bun and sighed looking at my ceiling wondering where the hell I was before this obsession started. I couldn't help but drift off. I couldn't remember the last time I slept. When I sunk into that warm abyss I was in school. With some young girl, I looked around and saw the name "Bonnie B" on the board. Had we known each other even back then? I woke up in a panic tearing down the drawings and throwing them into a fireplace igniting them quickly. I rub my eyes and let out a scream before calming down and settling into a dreamless sleep.

The days following up to my demise were quick. I befriended Bonnie and was there for her when many things happened and people died. The next I feared was going to be her grandmother. I also became friends with Elena Gilbert, Caroline Forbes, Matt Donovan, Tyler Lockwood, and even Vicki Donovan until she mysteriously disappeared. And then there were the Salvatores. I didn't mind Stephan as much as it was Damon I had a problem with. Something told me I had tussled with him before, so I tried to keep my distance. Until he became a problem with Bonnie.

At this point, I knew she had magic inside of her but didn't know how to use it. I would always smile and say I could teach her. "Come on Bonnie. You've known me forever." I poked her side as she walked around me in shorts, a tank top, and socks.

She laughed and squirmed away. "To be fair you moved away after third grade so I kind of forgot about you." She fired back sticking out her tongue.

"Ow, my pride." I rolled over on the couch and held my chest. I laughed and watched her walk into the kitchen. I got up and leaned in the doorway. "But in all seriousness, you need to learn how to control this before you hurt somebody." She rolled her eyes and was about to fire something at me when I held up a hand. "I've heard all the excuses but magic is fun. You get to do things like light a fireplace without even touching it. Or healing someone, using it to make a vampire hear a high pitched screech. And visions."

"I've had enough of those already. Don't you remember the football coach?" She tried to walk past me and I stopped her.

"Bonnie..." I say softly brushing her long curls away from her face. "Please, I know you're gonna do great things." She stared at me and sighed.

"Fine alright. I'll talk to my Grams." She sighs before making her way past me. "Can we watch that movie now?" She asks already underneath a blanket. I nodded and sat next to her arm hanging over the couch the other holding the remote. I didn't want to upset her anymore so I didn't bring up magic again for a while. She leaned into me and slowly fell asleep. I smiled and picked up her phone texting her grams that she had done so before getting the OK to keep her here for tonight. I then texted Elena and told her the same thing. That text, however, didn't get a response. Probably doing the do with Stephan. I thought before setting down Bonnie's phone and picking her up. She stirred slightly but fell back asleep quickly. Nothing scared me more than a woken-up Bonnie. I gently laid her on my bed and tucked her in, brown curls spread across the pillowcase. I shut the door before settling myself onto the couch in the other room clapping twice to turn off all my lights.
