Chapter one
Alina's P.O.V.
The day just seemed to drag on and I was quite excited to go home and be able to sleep in until three p.m. Saturday afternoon.
I walked quietly down the sidewalk, on my way home from school.
But as I neared the house I heard the yelling.
Great, just great.
My parents ever so recently decided to get a divorce, and until me and my mother could find another place to stay we were stuck in the same house as my father, a drunk.
As I entered my (ex) home I saw my mom and dad in the foyer.
Eyes full of fury and hatred turned towards me and, if possible, lightened up.
I silently made my way up the stairs on my right side, afraid to say something they didn't approve of.
There's no need for anymore arguments in the house-hold.
To think, a month ago we were so happy, my parents looked at each other with genuine love burning into their eyes.
Now they can't even speak to each other without hurtful words being spat.
I'm in high school, eleventh grade, and my parents have been together for a little over twenty years, and now they decide to split up?
I guess that love wasn't so genuine after all.
As I entered my bedroom, I sat down my bag and literally jumped upon my bed.
As soon as I did though, I could hear yelling erupt right outside my door.
"Alina Thompson, what has gotten into you!".
My 'father' slurred.
"What do you mean?"
I asked, my voice coming out less commanding then I wanted.
"How could you just walk past your own father like that? ungrateful you are ! after all I have given you!"
He said with fury evident in his blue eyes, the same color as mine actually.
"Dad, go to bed your drunk."
"What? no I'm not! your crazy little girl you really are"
He started laughing so hard the vain on the too left corner of his forehead was poking out.
"Mom!"
I belted pushing him out if the way of the door and running down the stairs to where I thought I would find my mother.
I looked in the kitchen, living room, and dining room and she was nowhere to be found.
Then I looked out the window to see her car that usually sat next to dads gone.
Great.
I heard mike walking down the stairs, now screaming at me.
It was like my body was on auto pilot and the next thing I knew I was walking down the sidewalk that led away from my house.
"Alina! get back into this house right know!"
I started to run because I know how angry he gets when he is drunk.
I ran for what felt like forever before I stopped to check the time.
I reached in my pants and pulled out my busted up iPhone.
It was 8:36 pm I was about to enter a small city.It was late, it was dark, and no one was to be seen on the lone sidewalk I had been walking on.
The apprehensive feeling I had at the moment was eating me alive.
I could still hear the yelling and I had been walking for a good ten minutes, the thought of walking back washed over me, but I didn't because I was sick of all if their fighting and arguing.
That's when I heard the footsteps and the muscular silhouette of a man stepping out of the alleyway in front of me.
My first instinct was to run, but when I turned around another tall bulky man stood behind me.
What is happening?
The man behind me at the moment wrapped an arm around my waist and pulled me to him whilst the other found its way in my mouth.
A rag had been placed on my nostrils and mouth and when I felt him pinch my nose I instinctively started to breath from my mouth.
"Breath, breath it in your safe with us"
A husky yet shady voice whispered in my ear.
I started freaking out.
"Stop no, please!".
I felt drowsier by the second as black dots clouded my vision and the feeling of sleep washed over me.
Then I blacked out.
