Falling.... That's all I remember before waking up. I was in a shack lying on a pile of shredded blankets when a old man walked in.
"Ah, you're awake" the old man says while placing a kettle pot down. I didn't say anything. I looked around and noticed there was a hooded person sitting in the corner. I also noticed my clothing was torn and I was wrapped in bandages. Confused I sat up, where was I? I tried to remember but only ended up with a headache.
"So, who are you anyway?" The old man says while pouring what looks like tea into a tin can and handing it to me. Taking a sip from the very delicious tea in the can I stopped. Who am I? I cant remember my own name! I'm 16 I think. "I don't know... I'm sorry." the old man sat and chuckled. "Kid you don't have to apologize to me. I'm no one special. Hell I'm not even the one who saved you." Saved me? What happened to me? "The young lady behind you saved you and brought you to me, I had to use some of my mana to heal you.
"Mana? Where am I? What country am I in? Is this my home? Who am-" I started asking everything in my head when I was cut off abruptly. "Woah there! Just calm it down. I'll answer all of your questions. Let me get more tea for you and we'll get started." The old man got up and walked away but just before he left the room, "Wait, what's your name?" He turned back and smiled. "My name is Benjamin, you can call me Ben. and that over there is my granddaughter her name is Sara.
"This world you're in is called Astia. Mana is what we use to control our magic. You are here in my home. Feel free to stay here as long as you like. By the looks of it you don't have a choice with those injuries." I looked at my body and realized I was worse than when I first looked. I was bandaged almost head to toe. Half of my face was covered and most of my body was wrapped up too.
"Magic... Do I have something like that?" I asked curiously.
"As far as I know everyone has magic power some have more mana than others, but that can always be changed with training. What family you were born in depends on how much you start with." Ben explained. I wonder if there are ways I can learn to use magic. "There social ranks in our world. At the top we have Royalty, then Nobles, Commoners, and unfortunately those who are unlucky enough to be born as Slaves. Even so, everyone has magic power weather that be big or sm-"
" I want to learn to use magic!" I cut him off abruptly. He chuckled and Sara scoffed and left the room. Ben then burst in to laughter. "Aright kid, why don't we wait till you recover." I feel fine nothing hurts. Removing my bandages Sara walks in with a pail of water and rags. She gasp, blushes, then looks away. After removing the ones off my body, I removed the ones from my face.
"That's one weird eye..." Sara claimed. I looked into the pail of water. My eyes were red and my hair white or sliver. My appearance looked fine but something was off. My left eye had a glowing blue circle in it. "It can't be!" Ben exclaimed. I jumped back not knowing what was going on. "Kid you have the [God Eyes]!!!" God eyes what is he talking about? I don't understand anything hes saying... "Let me explain. The [God Eyes] is a passive skill that lets you view everything's status, kind of like a alchemist's appraisal on chemicals and ingredients. Try using your [God Eyes] on me and Sara."
Looking at the both of them, I did as Ben asked. Well not exactly... I didn't know how. "Um... How?" Ben's excited smile turned a frown. "Ah, I almost forgot we need to check your mana pool. Here place your hand on this." Ben reached is hand inside a chest and pulled out a clear orb. I did as he asked and put my hand on the orb. Inside smoke started developing and changing colors, starting at red and ending is a black color. "THIS IS AMAZING!!!!" Ben shouted. It appeared he had way more energy than he should for an old man.
"My boy! You are quite extraordinary!! Your Mana pool is extremely large. Also I hope you don't mind but I went ahead and checked your attribute of magic and you have all of them!!! " Ben jumped around and yelled excitingly. There are many types of magic [Fire], [Water], [Earth], [wind], [Light], and [Dark}. There are still many more to be discovered!" Ben smiled the suddenly stopped then his smile was bigger then I knew possible. "How bout train you?"
I was shocked...
Sara stepped in. "Grandfather no..." If I want to learn more about this world, my memories, and who I am then I must learn about magic too. "I'd love for you to teach me." I said. Ben looked at me and smiled. "This is going to be great! Come out to the front once you've washed up. Wait!!! Don't even bother washing up because you're just gonna get sweaty again! Come on! Hurry!" Ben rushed me outside. I laughed and let him push me out. Sara followed us out.
" Ok. I'm going to teach you the most simplest type of [Wind] magic. " Ben then turned around and faced a tree.
"[Slash]!!!!" Ben raised his left arm and cut down diagonally. The tree was cut in half! Ben then turned to me while smirking, clearly impressed with himself. "[Slash] is a very easy attack that is used with a sword, but it can be used from your hands. Its difficult, and as I know only a few can learn to use it from their hands. Stand here. Then focus some mana into your dominate arm. When you feel it flowing release it in a wave."
I stood in front of a tree. carefully raising my hand. breathing in I could feel the mana gathering. Breathe in, breathe out, and repeat.
...
"[SLASH}"
