Dueling Spirit- Chapter 2

The next few days went without too many surprises, classes were classes and duels were duels, your training continuing regularly. Jaden, Syrus and Bastion would say hi at passing glances and Chazz was still stuck-up. Alexis and the girls would sit next to you during school and it didn't take long for the rumors to start spreading, not just about you but Laurence and Oliver too. Everyone calls Alexis and her friends the Obelisk Beauties and you guys were being called the Knight of Obelisk Blue. You didn't mind it, but your friends were sitting on edge after a while from all of the comments.

"What are we supposed to do about it?" Oliver asked

"I can only imagine how much of a hassle this has been for Mindy and the others," Laurence said, "and how can you be so calm about this?"

You looked up from your book to finally make eye contact with your friends and shrugged your shoulders, "I've never been, what were they calling it, 'shipped' with someone before but it seems to just be a joke."

"Still, it's getting annoying." Oliver said as cracked his neck

"Then why don't you roll with it?"

"What?"

"Laurence, what do you think of Mindy?"

"Uh...She's cute, funny, really down-to-earth."

"So, you like her?"

"Maybe?"

"And Oliver, what about Jasmine?"

"Hmmm, strong-willed, independent, a pinch stubborn; kind of like me actually."

"Then roll with it. If you like them, then ask them out to lunch; at the very least if they say no it might calm your shipping fans down."

The two of them looked at each other, Laurence scratching his head as he thought.

"It's worth a shot at least, tomorrow then?"

"Sure," Oliver nodded, "so what about you and Alexis?"

"Alexis is...interesting to say the least, but she hasn't shown too much interest so just being friends is fine with me."

"That's fair, you two are actually handling this situation pretty similarly from what I heard." Laurence said with a yawn, "Well, good night guys."

Your roommates headed off to bed and you followed soon after. After changing out of your blazer, you looked out your window at the moon before catching some movement outside. A few moments later, Alexis crosses the path and goes deeper into the forest.

"What the..." You said as you fished your summoning deck out of your pocket, searching for a sentry and summoning it, a warrior known as the Crimson Ninja

"You summoned me?"

"Yes, I need you to follow the blonde girl that just went down that path and let me know if she comes back this way."

"Yes, sir." The ninja nodded and phased through the window like a shadow

You watched as the ninja faded away as it went deeper into the forest and your waiting began. First twenty minutes, then an hour, then 2 hours and by now you had fallen asleep at the window until you felt a presence and woke up to find the Crimson Ninja standing behind you.

"Anything?"

"The girl went to an old abandoned building deep in the woods. After a time, she left the same way she came and arrived back moments ago."

"Excellent. You're dismissed."

The next morning, you tried to find time and ask Alexis about what you saw but every time you saw her she would leave a few moments later. It was getting a little frustrating so you decided to go for the next best thing. Out on the campus grounds, you looked around and sure enough there were Mindy and Jasmine, napping under a tree with Laurence and Oliver.
