The Red Series
When Akai first saw Suigetsu in Orochimaru's hideout, she couldn't say anything. He gave her a grin, before pulling her into a tight hug. But with that alone, Akai understands everything. Suigetsu doesn't miss her, for him it feels just like how she returned from her missions in Kiri.
This broke her heart, but Akai appreciates the gesture. The hug is actually him reassuring her that no matter what kind of torture she would go through, Suigetsu put faith in her, that she would survive.
And for Akai, it's enough. She knows that they both had changed. They no longer need each other, but knowing that he is alright without her is enough to make her happy.
