This was it. I am caught, of course we all new this was going to happen. There was no way I could was ever going to survive with out my protection. And he knew it too. He took all I had, but still, I loved him. And it broke me heart. Because he had left me, without even a goodbye.

"Goodbye Mr Holmes" My last text, sort of ironic.

I close my eyes and wait for it. People say that your life flashes before your eyes before you die. Well for me, that didn't happen. Instead I saw what my life could have been. A family, a little girl her loving adoring face looking up at me, me and my husband. Married. I could be married, having a kid, living in a home.

I waited for it to come, the split second of pain before, and whatever comes after death. I hope he understands what my last text means to me. A lone tear trickles my cheek, it is all alone, just like me.

*moan*

My eyes open wide in shock. His mobile made that sound when I sent a text. How could he have gotten here!

"When I say run, run!" He half whispers, half shouts. I hear the blade swoosh as it rises. "Run!"

And run I do, as fast as I can. I hear him knock out or possibly kill the men who were about to kill me seconds ago.

Then I hear him running after me.

"Keep going! Don't look back!" he breathes his warm breath hitting the back of my neck. He doesn't even seem out of breath.

Grabbing my hand he pulls me through a dark ally that leads to a large square. We slow down so that we blend in. This place seems to be a place where the people tend to be gathered. His warm hand grips mine tightly and doesn't let go as he leads me, and we make our way through the masses of people. His hand is warm, strong, and sends chills up my spine. I almost forget that there might be people chasing us.

"What did you do to them back there?" I whisper into his ear. Being in such close proximity makes my heart rate increase.

"Just the usual, they won't be breathing again anytime soon." He whispers back.

I feel relief instantly floods me. They're dead. Never to bother anyone again. Then the realization that I could be found dead   tomorrow. An easy escape to a complicated life.

I hadn't realized how far we had walked till Sherlock stopped in front of a smaller apartment in a quiet neighborhood.

"Where are we?" I asked and looked up at him, seeing his face fully for the first time. He had taken off what had covered his face, and his magnificent cheek bones stood out and I was reminded of the night I had beaten him, the night I won.

"Why don't you come in and see." He said walking backwards and letting go of my hand, before practically hopping up the steps, opening the door and disappearing.

I looked around, the streets were dark and no one seemed to be about. I weighed my options, I could either leave now and make arrangements for Irene Adler to be found dead tomorrow. Or, I could go inside and get the answers to my questions.

I walked up the steps and cautiously opened the door. Light streemed from a room half way down the hallway. Following the light I found myself in a small bedroom. Sherlock is sitting on the edge facing the wall. As he looks at me and his eyes immediately narrow as if he is thinking about what to say way to hard. The tension in the air is thick. I take a few steps forward and Sherlock immediately appeared at my side, almost crushing me into the wall, his arm resting above my head leaning into the wall his face inches from mine.

"You know," I begin looking at his lips. "We never did get dinner." I glace back up to his eyes just in time to see his eyes flicker back up to mine. Their blue color seems to intensify, the blueness darkening.
