That simple feather set ablaze, withered into dust, withered into ash, withered, into nothing. The dark grew cold while the pure sunlight drifted behind the mountains hidden in the mist. The surly, vile sound of its slither echoed beyond the presence of the stone cold blade. The menacing cutlass held by its opponent shone. There they stood, silent and frozen. Not a flinch from either. The armoured boy’s glimpse was left as he ran to hide. As if standing three inches from the beast, every second was gaining more pressure. It’s like every breathe he took he had even more to lose. It’s like, exactly what It wanted. No way did the boy give up, not just yet, not when he could lose… Everything! “I’m the admirer of your torture…i'm devoted to your agony...hssss….I’m the abounding burden that you can’t bear… hssss…” He could just hear It telling him to come closer, come back. But it was in his head. He was losing it. He stopped. No more running, he thought. He came there for something he loved more than anything. He needed it desperately. It’s like he’s dying every second he’s away. It’s growing more distant, and he’s losing air. The suffocation is inevitable. He stumbled upon the stairs. He looked up, it seemed to lead up to an abandoned room. He looked and It wasn’t anywhere to be seen. He ripped his body from the filthy concrete floor. His steps echoed as they sliced through the dust. He stood at the top and looked around slowly. He shrieked and fell as the beady yellow eyes stared. As the boy hit the concrete, images appeared. They never caught the attention of the creature, maybe they were in his head. It was his family… The girl he once loved, his parents and his little sister, his four best friends… It went dark. He felt something. He suddenly felt as if he was in the place he longed to be for years. But he didn’t know where. He knew this was it. He knew this was his moment. He stood, opened hi eyes… using his senses, he knew where the creature was… A scream went distant as the vibration of a shriek followed. He had jumped off the ledge, slicing through layers of skin, bone and blood, until the glimpse of light peered though the shattered window. His footsteps lingered farther… reaching the departure, fading into the outside luminescence.
