"Just be yourself, Dec. Stop overthinking." MacKenna muttered over the other line.
"It's not that easy," I reply, fiddling with a broken Mongol 2 pencil.
"I know, but can't you at least try? I'm sure she'll like you. Don't worry."
"Jeez, like is a strong word."
"No, love is. And once she likes you, maybe she'll think about loving you."
"You don't have to think twice if you love a person."
"And you say you don't know about love," MacKenna says stiffly. I could already imagine her rolling her eyes.
"Alright, fine. Sorry. Well, thanks for your help though," I reply softly and she ends the call.
MacKenna's POV
God. Why can't he just stop with all the Brittany business?
Declan ... seriously.
Don't you see that there are tons of other girls that are dying to get your attention?
... like me.
Go ahead, laugh.
I know it seems like a joke. I have a boyfriend, anyway.
And I know what you're all probably thinking; MacKenna, you're making everything a hundred times more complicated.
But I can't help it.
Dec's POV
A few minutes after laying in bed just thinking of a plan on how to start a decent conversation with Brittany, I get a text from Jason.
"Hey Decker, party next week, Friday night at Ty's, you can ride w me or Marina if you want. 9 pm."
Well ... alright.
I guess I'm going to this party ... even if I haven't said yes yet.
Then ... I get another text. Still from Jason.
"By the way, there'll be TONS of babes. Just lettin ya know :P"
How many times do I have to think of a million reasons just so my friends would stop trying to set me up? I'm taken.
Well, not actually.
The other person still doesn't know we're dating.
Well, someday she will. Just don't give up.
