I have SO MANY favourite songs. Disney just makes great songs that I adore so much.
soooo before I get to my top pick, here are some honorary mentions:

so, my final choice however is Reflection - Lea Salonga

as a kid, I just loved the song and how beautiful it is. it always seemed to draw me in with itself enchanting sound and beautiful singing.
now, nothing has really changed. I still love the song but not just because of how beautiful it is, because of how raw and emotional it is, how Lea Salonga sings with all her heart and makes you feel like your heart is breaking.
And how relatable this song is to me.
one lyric that made me say, "oh my gosh. That's me." was this one:
"now I see, that if I were truly to be myself, I would break my family's heart."
I'm not comfortable in my own skin, never really have been. I feel that if i would be myself, no one would accept it and I would cause pain to not only myself but the people I care when doing so.
but the lyric that always hurts me, always make my heart break is this one:
"Who is that girl I see, staring straight back at me? Why is my reflection someone I don't know?"
it's a question I've always wondered myself, that I stare at myself and I can't seem to recognize the person that I see.
