"She was beautiful, but not like those girls in the magazines. She was beautiful, for the way she thought. She was beautiful for the sparkle in her eyes when she talked about something she loved. She was beautiful, for her ability to make other people smile, even if she was sad. No, she wasn't beautiful for something as temporary as her looks. She was beautiful deep down to her soul. She is beautiful." ~F. Scott Fitzgerald

Quick note: Bold is sign language!

My eyes flew across the pages of the book in my lap while I sat waiting for Uncle Charlie to show up at the airport, my fingers tapping on the tattered cover of 'The Count of Monte Cristo' that I had read one too many times. A finger tapping on my shoulder startles me out of my reading, glancing up into the eyes of the person beside me a smile breaks across my face. I wave happily at him and stand up to hug him.

I pulled back to look at him as I signed to him.

Uncle Charlie!

"Hey kiddo, how you holding up?"

As well as I can be I think.

"Let's get going, its a long drive." He picks up my bag, leading me out to his cruiser. Once in the car I return to my reading curling up in the front seat as we begin the long drive to Forks. The drive is quickly over, Uncle Charlie startling me out of my reading when we pulled in the driveway. I smiled at the familiar house before me, memories of Bella and I tucked away in her bedroom reenacting our favorite books during the summers we both spent here. I tapped Uncle Charlie on the shoulder quickly.

Where's Bella?

"At her fiance's house. Her future sister in law has her over there all the time wedding planning lately." I nodded.

When's the wedding?

"A month from now I believe." He says as he opens the door to the house. I smile creeping up the stairs to Bella's room dropping my bag on the floor by the bed. I pull my phone from my pocket grunting as I sat down pain blossoming across my ribs fro the deep purple bruises that were painted there. I shake the memory from my head and unlock my phone texting Bella.

I'm here! I can't wait to meet your fiance!

I'll send my sister in law to get you! I'm a little tied up right now!

I'll see you soon.

I quickly strip out of the crumpled clothes that I had traveled in tugging on a pair of jeans and an over sized sweat shirt. As I tie the laces on my converse Uncle Charlie steps into my field of vision leaning against the door frame.

"Going somewhere?"

Bella is sending her sister in law to pick me up. I sling my satchel up onto my shoulder tucking my phone into my back pocket.

"Which one?" My eyebrows scrunched together.

There's more than one?

"Yeah, Rosalie and Alice. Alice always was my favorite."  I smile at that, Uncle Charlie rarely liked people so when he did it really meant something. He turned to look down the stairs and turned back to me. "They're here. Those Cullen kids all drive like bats out of hell."

I followed him downstairs tugging my tangled curly hair into a messy bun on top of my head. I stop short when I see the woman standing in the door way. Her blonde hair waved past her shoulders, not a single hair out of place despite the wind blowing outside. Her face flawless, as if carved by some Greek sculptor. Her eyes, honey golden and beautiful, flit to me her lips move to quickly for me to read and I glance at Charlie confused. Charlie says something and a look of surprise appears on her face. She looks back to me and smiles gently. A smile spreads across my face as she raises her hands and begins to sign to me.
