Okay so here we go. I'm not the type of person who likes to write things down, or type I should say; however, something strange has happened to me. It happened my college composition class....
"Okay class so todays your first day of college and welcome to my course. We have no time to chit chat or meet new people because we have A LOT of work to get done."
Boy oh boy that teacher was not joking. This class was only an hour and a half, yet it seemed like a four-hour class with all the work we had completed in it. But in that class, it is where I saw you. Dark haired, it was hard to tell whether it was black or brown in the dim lighting of the white room, yet there you stood out the most. You turned and looked at me, and smiled. Oh holy hell that's when I knew I was in trouble. That smile of yours was so perfect is cut into my heart and decided to lay waste to its empty lands. You were my first real crush.
I never had the courage to talk to you mainly because, in a way I guess you frightened me. You seemed to make friends wherever the teacher moved you. From the back row beside me, to the middle making snide comments, to the front where you sometimes looked behind and we made eye contact. When we made eye contact I knew my face was already turning shades of red. And then you decided to talk to me.
"Hey look, someone put memes up on that computer."
I wonder who he is talking to; I thought. After nobody responded to him, I looked up to see you looking at me.
"See look, it's like a slideshow of meme's. How do people even do this!" You said, your voice raising as you waited for someone to answer.
"Yeah, look that frogs holding a tea cup and is deep in thought about his life. It's hilarious." Well dang if my voice wasn't sarcastic enough then my facial expression must have said something.
"Well okay Miss. Sarcastic, anything else you got up your sleeve?"
"Maybe, but you won't see it coming till it has climbed up your back and slithered into your heart."
"Dang, nice wordplay.... What's your name?"
Just to let some people know, this is like the fourth week of college and he still doesn't know my name! What were all those looks from the front of the room supposed to mean huh? Well I'm going to pretend I don't know his name either.
"I'm Nancy, and you are?"
"Eric. And I thought everyone would have known my name by now. I mean the teacher calls me out almost every time we have class."
"Yeah well I don't care much for troublemakers."
"Oh, so I'm a troublemaker now?"
Oh holy Zeus, I could feel the burning of my cheeks coming on a mile away. Is this flirting? I don't know, I'm being a bit rude. Should I turn down my sarcasm or just keep saying what comes to mind? No if I keep saying what comes to my mind I KNOW I'm going to end up making a big fool of myself. Wait, is he sitting back here, with me? When did this happen. Jesus I'm in trouble. How did I not notice he moved back here?!
"Umm sorry what were we talking about again?" I asked
Just then, our teacher decided to come join us for class. "Okay guys it's noon, time to start class. We will not be using the computers today so close them. Eric get back up front. This seat is now your new friend." The teacher said as she stomped around, shaking the floor with every step.
"Told ya she likes to call me out." Eric said. He left with a wink, whisking away back to the front seat. He did not look back the rest of the class.
However, after class is a different story.
