Slowly both of his hands were on my temples. Tears were falling from his beautiful blue eyes. He kissed my forehead, many times, continuously. He finally stopped. He looked deeply into my eyes, before he slowly whispered "I'm sorry, I'm sorry Rose"
I slowly fell to the fall, this deathly feeling overcame me. I couldn't feel anything. He grabbed my hand as I fell, but I couldn't feel that warm feeling I usually got when he touched me.
A shadow ran straight past me... It was running away! He looked over at the escaping shadow and flinched, as if he was about to run after it. He didn't though, he just stared into my eyes. He let each tear fall, I couldn't help but watch each one. The way he was speaking to me was the most upsetting part of all. The pain was no match to hearing the boy I love cry. He was speaking softly but was trying to shout so hard.
I slowly began to let tears fall down my face. He wiped each one away and kept repeating "Everything is going to be okay, I promise you Rose!"
I didn't understand what was happening. I looked around hoping that I would get some idea of what was going on. I stared at his arm, he was bleeding. There we four deep knife cuts along the top of his arms. He was sweating and had mud all over himself. He looked like he had been in a war-zone.
Thinking that one thought reminded me exactly where I was! Blood was everywhere but I didn't know why?
Feeling down my bloody body, I found a knife, it was inside me. The shock of feeling it made me look hard at my stomach. There were multiple stab wounds and the knife used was right in between them.
I felt sick. Once I realised what was going on I slowly put my red bloody hand on his cheek. I tried to lean in to kiss him for what felt like that last time, but I didn't have the strength.
I closed my eyes and just gave up... I couldn't handle that pain anymore. I was dead.
This could possibly seem like a horrible nightmare, but at the time, it felt like the most romantic moment in the world. This is the most memorable thing that has ever happened to me. His name was Leonard. He saved me... In every way I could of possibly been saved.
I wanted all my life to be a marine! Did you know women can't become marines? Only men can. Its this big adventure, something I've always wanted to go on, but I've just never got the chance.
Its probably better if I start at the beginning of the whole story, so you get a better understanding of why I am in this situation with Leonard. It was 1903...
"Rose" my maid Molly called.
"Yes Molly" I replied.
"Its time for your gown fitting. Your mother is waiting for you in the fitting room".
I stroked my hair one last time with the silver brush that was given to me by my mother when I was just a child. I made my way down the corridor to the room at the bottom of the third floor in my house. I knocked twice and the made my way in.
"Hello madam" Hatty my gown designer said.
"Hello Hatty" I glanced over to the left. My mother was looking through my wardrobe. "Hello mother".
"Oh, Rose. Hatty has designed the perfect gown for the officers ball tomorrow night" my mother said to me.
"May I see it Hatty?" I said to my gown designer.
"Of course madam"
She walked over to a silver railing and took off a beautiful gown which was a slight mint green colour. The chest area had stitched on diamonds which complimented the love heart shape it made. The bottom of the dress was swagged in layers and had a slight train. She then picked up long satin gloves that had diamonds going along the very top of them.
