Try to make it your own, make it original. Readers love original stories, things that's haven't been written. If you don't know what is your genre or your style ask yourself this question: what kind of books do I read? If you read Stephen King, maybe you'll want to write a horror story. If you like Nicholas Sparks, maybe you'll want to write something involving with romance. Perhaps you can write a FanFiction of your favorite band or artist. FanFictions are very popular because you'll be able to attract all the fans of the artist your writing about.
