"Macona!"
I hear a familiar voice yelling for me but my eyes are heavy, not wanting to open. I don't remember where I am. Why is my body is on fire? Slowly, after a few 6 able to open my eyes, and the world spins. As I'm trying get my bearings, a voice calls out to me. My visions blurry, but once I can start to see clearly, I look around to see where I am, but I'm in a box -well more like cage in my opinion- there's only one part that doesn't obscure what's on the outside. The door.I slowly get to my feet, but I feel my legs give out. I lean against the side of the cage for support so I don't fall. Still leaning on the side of the cage, I go toward the door to see if I can find out who's calling to me. When I reach the door I lean against it. Inhaling sharply, I look out the barred door I can see rows and rows of cages as far as I can see.
Everything's so bright. The cages are grayish-black, but everything else is so white. Stark."Macona?"I hear the voice again that was once filled with urgency is now filled with concern.
I find the voice that has been calling out to me, right across from me. Well....how convenient. I'm filled with relief, but soon that relief turns to concern.
Leona, my eight year old sister, had dark bags under her eyes that looked like she hadn't slept for days. She has a gash on her right calf, and her hair-that was once long-was now cut to her ears."L-Leona? What happened? Where are we?" I clutched at the bars while looking from her to all the other cages around us, seeing if I can see anyone else. But I was having trouble seeing, my eyes kept focusing and unfocusing.
"I don't know where we are. I-i can't remember, when I try to remember I just see you.....covered and surrounded in blood, "Lee stutters.
Why does she see me covered in blood? I have always controlled my emotions and shifts. I never killed unless needed or if their wasn't any other option. But when I look into her blue eyes, I knew she's not lying. But why?
"I-I don't remember" my voice is a low whisper, almost a rasp. I try to remember, but everytime I try, my head pulses like my heads going to burst.
My head pulses like a constant heartbeat. As my head pulses, my legs give out and I fall to my knees, as I clutch my head."Mac? Are you okay? What's wrong?", Leona's concerned voice gets drowned out little by little until the pain is to much. I black out and fall into darkness.I wake up to the sound of keys. I look towards the door, but everything is blurry. I can't do much when the figure opens the door, and comes in and grabs me by the arms pulling me up.
'Oh that's going to bruise, I just know it', I think as the person drags me out the door of my cage. My vision slowly becomes clearer and I look over to the person that grabbed me to see....
